Do you even want to make the playoffs?

I certainly do but I have a realistic view in that we will probably lose in week #1, but so be it. I want in.

I dunno Sarge... it's a mixed bag. I like being in the playoffs but I like the idea of a better draft position too. And honestly I don't see us doing anything in the playoffs except take a severe arse-kicking.

I can see both sides, truly. But by making the playoffs, it gives me another reason to throw back a few cold ones.

I hear ya.

getting to the playoffs then getting beat down the first rd isnt worth it to me. i'd rather lose out and get the better pick. what a waste of a season.

I'll take the playoffs.......but it will require winning out & some help....that's probably easier said than done.

I like watching football and my favourite team play.

So you give me more games and I'm happier.

I'd prefer playoffs

Yup, you might as well. Otherwise why even bother playing the 16 games if you know you're not almost a lock to go deep in the playoffs. Might as well just tank it every year to stockpile talent.

If you're not one of the best 2 or 3 teams in the league, it's more fun on draft day if you're one of the 2 or 3 worst. ;)

But once it's a done deal that you're a 9-7 type team and you can either play another game or just go home..why would you wanna go home? As a fan if you dont care about the possibility of that extra game, why even bother watching the last few reg season games. To see if you magically morph into a team that could suddenly beat down Indy?

the draft is a crap shoot. who's to say another jacob rogers isn't waiting for us. let's make the playoffs and hope we get into the groove. the playoffs should be the only objective. i'll get exited about the draft once the season is over.

I agree. The draft is better when we have close to a top 5 pick. Not sure it really accomplishes anything going from #20 to #18. This team won't go to the Super Bowl but at least we get an extra week. :)

If we can't beat the Commanders, how are we supposed to do anything in the playoffs? Yeah it would be great for us to have a chance at winning the SB, but we already saw what happens when we limp into the playoffs with a mediocre team.

2003 Cowboys vs. Carolina after a "magnificent" 10-6 season. Whoops. Well, we'll be awsome next year - just watch.

2004 Our year, man. We're the "We're THIS close to being a SB team b/c we got into the playoffs after 3 straight 5-11 season" Cowboys. 6-10.

I don't want any false hopes to float around Valley Ranch. This team has serious problems, and getting into the playoffs will not help them whatsoever.

We have too many questions, and only two games left to get some answers. We should pay attention to the lessons of this slap-in-the-face loss, and start figuring out how to get ready to compete FOR REAL. Obviuosly we've stopped doing that somewhere along the way. . .

Throw out the conservative offense, and blitz - creatively - like there's no tomorrow. Let's see what we got in our young WR's and our QB's. Let Roy go nuts. Let's figure out who stays here in the off-season and who goes.

In my opinion, the rest of this season is not about winning or losing anymore.

Well thats true too. The other part of the equation for me is not entirely just making the playoffs but how you go about it..even from this late point, forward.

The most serious "flaw" with this team these days (aside from having a lot better players) is it's total inability to score the road. Yet it's not complete ineptitude overall or they wouldnt be able to score at home, either.

So enter Carolina. Do we even have a remote possibilty of scoring in the 20's over there? I'd say theres no chance. We havent scored 20 offensive points on the road since the S.F. game.

But if by some miracle we could win a game like that 27-17 I'd be a lot more excited going forward than if we win it 13-10. I guess for me it wouldnt be a case of "a win is a win". I figure we've already used up our quota of those.

Just be a lot more comforting to feel we at least would have a chance to compete in a road playoff game. As it stands now we have virtually no shot of doing that. Cept maybe against the bears who have a hell of a time themselves scoring more than 13 no matter where they play.

Give me the playoffs any day(as long as it isn't here in Charlotte again for heavens sake. I can't take another L in this city). I could care less about improving our draft a couple spots. I love the playoffs, and the wild card teams have actually not done bad lately particularly in the NFC. At least you have a shot(even with our offensive tackles) if you get in.

Dallas started 2-0 on the road, with 2 come from behind 4th quarter wins vs SF and SD, but since then they are 1-4 with the only win the lucky win vs. the Eagles. Drew had won 6 straight road wins dating back to last year, snapped at the Oakland game. This weekend will be a good game. If they win, we'll have one more game to look forward to. If they win that, possibly one more, and so on.

I was against the Playoffs hope, but it can be a good experience for the young guys who've never been there before.

So, I'd say, if I had the choice, I'd definitely like to make the playoffs. Even if we'd lose.

Not only yes but hell yes. For one this team will never give up so if they're in the playoffs, they're in the playoffs.

Second, I think it would be good for this team, next year, if they can look back at this year and see how they scraped in the playoffs. Should provide motivation all off season.

Third the experience can only help imo.

Fourth I don't see any big difference drafting 18th or 21st. I think that's a weak and sorry reason to root for you team to lose. That's a loser attitude.

DipChit,

If we somehow dominate Carolina and blow apart STL, then yeah - give me the playoffs.

I just don't see that happening since it actually looked like we put high school players in Cowboys uniforms and sent them out to play a pissed off rival on the road.

I left when there was 10 minutes to go in the 4th. Didn't even finish the last beer I bought. When I got home, I just poured it out b/c I didn't want to have anything from that stadium in my apt.
