Do you guys believe there is trade bias against Cowboys?

There's a lot of reasons. Lots of things to consider when you talk about players who come here after they've established themselves, and that probably varies from player to player, organization to organization, etcetera.

Lately, we've been a team to draft our own guys from college, or to develop other teams rejects or undrafted free agents.

I like our style.
I don’t like our results!

No there is no trade bias toward Dallas. To the contrary, our GMs reputation on trades probably makes us a very popular potential trade partner.

The reason we don’t see many trades in Big D though is mainly because of the way our front office views the salary cap. More aggressive teams like the rams, niners, chiefs see the cap as a speed bump. The Cowboys front office sees a wall with the cap.

The NFL cap is the hardest of the ones used in pro sports. For that reason alone, trades are more difficult in the NFL compared to other sports.

Whilst I agree that the teams use the CAP differently I would say that the CAP has to be paid as some point, with us 2022 by accident, rather than design ( Gregory) is where we reset.

The Rams arent using the CAP as a speed bump....The Reaper's already knocking on their door. Next season they will wont have an O-Line and a D-Line that'll be Donald, JAG, JAG, JAG, already overspent on the predicted CAP level and with a 2023 draft with highest picks...2nd/3rd and 6th Rd.

It gets worse: 2024, they are still over CAP (what they defer from 2023)....still no O-Line and D-Line.

2025 - 44M just in void money. That could rise to minimum guranteed Dead Money of $100m or even $120m depending on what they do with Stafford/Kupp/Wagner.... but that would be a team without a QB and Donald.

The Chiefs make hard decisions to strengthen areas whilst accepting they have to surrender stars to facilitate that transition (Plus = O-Line rebuild , Sacrifice = Tyreek Hill).

I hear you. San Francisco is going to be a handful Hurts did nothing by the way the Cowboys lost that game because our offense had one first down through a quarter and a half. I am more afraid of Buffalo/KC then I would be of San Francisco/Philadelphia. More teams pass then run nowadays.

:huh:the Eagles game turned on the 4th Qrt drive when the Eagles went 13 play drive for 76 yard Touchdown, running something like 10 plays which we couldnt stop, now we may attribute that to the Defense being gassed, but the book on us is certainly indicating:
1) Cowboys have an elite pass-rush
2) Starting with the notorious Denver game (190 yards), 49ers playoff (169 yards), Bucc Game1 2022 (152 yards).

Now there may be this myth that it's a "Passing League", but when your facing our Defense i'm sure you start on the ground.

Buffalo and Kansa dont really count if you cant overcome the 49ers and Eagles run game.

There’s no bias. Jerry is still the final boss but he isn’t working the phones like when he was younger. Stephen is the main reason we are inactive in free agency amd trade markets.

OK, this is just silly.

We get teh short end of the trades because our FO is incredibly inept when it comes to managing an NFL football team. I mean, calling them football idiots would be a compliment. They are seriously that bad, due to simply not being football people. And they've gone out of their way to prove it!!!!

Yup. Rams made a one year bid for a super bowl. Great when it works. However, you must have dominant players such as Kupp, Donald, Ramsey, Ashawn, and good role players and some young hungry talent to make such a move.

Lets be fair, the Rams are willing to trade picks, we're not.

The Rams are in desperation mode, probably the last year before 'Fire Sale', indeed this may even start in a weeks time (if 49ers beat them and the Chiefs).

Its not so much they are 'given' players in trades, it's killing their draft (and infusion of young players) to the point that in 5 of this years 6 games they can only average 10pts per.

As for Coop, it was the market situation....EVERY TEAM could see that with a week before the CAP had to be balanced the only way we were realistically going to get under was to release Amari. Teams factored in that our CAP until 2024 meant we were unlikely to restructure, that other teams were shopping (better WR's) and they could possibly pick up Coop (for nothing).
I feel like a 2nd and 3rd for Von Miller was robbery.

Would you take him for a 2nd and 3rd?

Its not a matter of what a player's worth, it's what a team will offer in recompense for his services for 1/2 a season. The very fact that Rappaport stated the Broncos even paid the remaining salary in order to get better picks indicates there wasnt a better offer on the table.

The way were run I doubt we'd lose a 2nd and 3rd when we had Tank, Gregory, Micah and Armstrong manning the edge and Kearse hybriding LB.

Nope. We got a crappy GM that would trade Mahommes type talent for a 5th round pick…jones brothers should just count their money and let a real GM run the team..
