Lets be honest it would be darn near impossible for the line to be worse than it was at the end of last season.

Why are we judging this line now? Let's wait unitl after the draft and then discuss what could or couldn't be with this unit (he he, I said unit.)

Well we're still gonna have issues for sure. The top tier lines have not only talent but continuity. When you keep changing 2 or 3 pieces every year due to injury, FA, or whatever you're gonna struggle some at times even if on "paper" you're better.

I honeslty doubt that we draft any starters. I'm pretty sure all of the starting linemen are on this roster. But Adams, Kosier, Rivera, Johnson, Fabini is much better than what we had last year.

I'm positive Fabini wins the starter role, unless Pettiti turns into superman. And with Flozell, Fabini, healthy Rivera, Kosier, and new heavier Al Johnson I think we'll do fine.

I'm positive Petitti will win the starting job.

Funny, I have more confidence now than I did before we cut LA.

I think we'll still add a late FA to the line ,along with the draft:bang2:

I think the release of LA means we draft a guard on the first day.

I'm generally optimistic towards the cowboys, but I just can't see how this line is much better than last years... It's basically the same except you trade allen- who was a probowler, and even though he's dogged here, he still was selected and was definitely not even close to the weak link last year- for Kosier. is that an upgrade?
Then you trade pettiti for Fabini, which should be an upgrade, but definitely nothing dominant. So I know everyone will respond "but adams and rivera weren't healthy and so that is a huge upgrade." so why are we basing our entire season on the health of two injury riddled players on the wrong side of 30? I know it's possible that they might come back and play the best they ever have, but I think unrealistic. I really hope Jerry has something up his sleeve if he is going to cut the strongest member of the oline last year and claim we have improved, because right now, there is no one on this oline that would worry me if I was the DC of another team (adams might by the end of spring training, but not yet).

I just heard SPagnola Say that Fabini might not even be a Starter, he said he's a "possible starter", or a backup just in case Pettiti doesnt develop:banghead: YOu know what the Jets Fans call Fabini?-They call him " "Fall start 69"..WOW You GO Fabini, you're the man. Yea right! .. Then you have Mr. Broken back Rivera and Little man Johnson...Come on man I'm not happy with this line at all. And you can flame me all you want, I can say what ever I please so W/E.

If Bledsoe has no time to pass and JJ has no room to run I'll know why......What-ever like NICk Eatman always says, " IT IS WHAT IT IS".

And yes I'm pist can you tell? http://img95.*************/img95/553/heyyoubycamikaze0ug.gif[/quote)

I'm with you. Games are won and lost in the trenches. We need alot of improvement.

I'm happy with the O-Line. Especially happy that the big man, Larry Allen is gone.

The guy had no passion or intensity. He was too quiet...no fire in his belly.

I love what Kosier brings to the table and I'm looking forward to Peterman getting a reasonable chance at becoming the starter.

By the way, I was listening to Sirius NFL today and someone (dont remember who...presumably someone who covers the Jets) was praising Dallas for the Fabini pick up, saying the Jets will miss him sorely.

I like this line better than any offensive line in recent Cowboys history. Health is always concern, but I think there are some quality players here.

Not trying to start a fight here but who?????

Pettiti.......for Gods sakes man he gave up more sacks than anyone else in the NFL last year.

Al Johnson....... Undersized at best. Gets mauled when asked to runblock

Gurode............ Had problems with snapping the all his whole life

Torrin Tucker.....Oh my God, this guy is a backup in NFL Europe

Flozell Adams.....How many times can one man false start?

Stephen Peterman.....Micky Spagnola was on the ticket today saying he didn't even know if he would make the team this year.

Marco Rivera...... Hasn't done anything since he left Green Bay.......except throw his back out on a treadmill

I wish I could share your optimism, but I blast the posters at Extremeskins for being homers. I'm not afraid to take off my homer glasses.

I think we could be in serious trouble here. And I'm not blasting your post, I just don't feel good about these guys at all. Games are won and lost in the trenches.h

As I said, health is an issue...

I think Flozell Adams is one of the best left tackles in football. If anyone doubted it, they should have paid more attention to the offense after he went down last season. He's easily a top 10 LT though, in my mind.

Kyle Kosier is a very good, fundamentally sound player. He's not going to make mistakes. He'll do his job well. I love players like that.

Al Johnson is being written off way too fast, I believe. Just a year ago, people were talking about Al as being a solid center for years. I believe that the struggles on both sides of him last season really hurt him. I think he and Bledsoe had some problems early that bothered him. I think he had some injury problems as well. He'll be better this year.

Marco Rivera was hurt all season long, but he's been a very good player for a long time. I think he's going to really bounce back this season.

Jason Fabini is the most underrated signing for Dallas this offseason. The guy is a pro, and he gets the job done. Now that he's back on the right side, I expect him to be even better.

Andre Gurdoe may or may not ever get the mental part of the game down, but he has talent. He's great to have in a pinch.

Torrin Tucker may or may not make the team. If the light ever goes on for him, he could be a great help. As is, he has shown that he is a good option to step in for a limited time.

Rob Pettiti battled all season long , despite some injury problems. As a young player, I would expect even more improvement.

Stephen Peterman looked good last preseason. I dont know what happened. He was highly thought of once, and he may prove to be solid player. Regardless, you are talking about your 8th lineman at this point...

Again, I think this line is much better than anything Dallas has had in a while.

I don't have a lot of faith in the O-Line either, but they did a decent job of pass protecting before Flozell went down. Run blocking though they struggled with all year

...no! We will need every single week of the offseason to get this line together and mesh as one unit.

I'm not terribly impressed with the individual talent level, but the o-line is one of the few areas where teamwork may be more important than individual play.

I'm not a believer yet.

Not the least bit. We brought in a couple of guys who I am willing to give a chance before I say they cannot play, but just look at who we have besides them. Johnson is undersized and towards the end of the year was even worse than usual. Rivera (though he may not have been at 100%) has yet to show us anything. Then we have Tucker and Petiti who are both young guys, but are in absolutely no way reliable players. I understand why we had to cut Allen, but at the same time even if he had to pay him all of that money we honestly NEED him BADLY this year and I think that will become clearly evident when the season rolls around.... So hopefully their is someone out their in FA that we are still looking at and if not I don't see how we don't draft an O-Lineman on day 1
