“When you're good at making excuses, it's hard to excel at anything else."

Tell that to the Saints.

What hurt me this season the most is the realisation that we were just one player away from winning the big game: QB.
We didnt have such a competitive team for years now.
MAN DOES IT SUCK!
Do you honestly believe we are that far off?
Based on what I saw in the Rams's/Saints we aren't
Even with JG as our HC
Even with Dak as our QB
Even with JJ as our owner
Even with Kitna as the QB coach
AND the possibility of Mini Me Moore as our OC
We aren't that far behind McVay/Goff, Payton/Brees and the Rams/Saints.

I don’t
A healthy OL
Add ET at safety
Add a DT and TE
We can win the NFC
It's not emotional based. Fact is that "Only time will tell" if anyone off the streets would be a good coach or not, or any random player on the team for that matter. As I stated somewhere before, usually a defensive line coach gets promoted to Coordinator after it is clear that they did a good job there. Is it clear that Moore has done a good job as a QB coach? 2017 was a good year for Dak. 2018 Dak was 3-5, until Cooper came onboard, so would the turn around in 2018 logically be on Cooper or Moore? Then there is the whole deja vu factor, in that we all been here before with Jason Garrett, who had a better resume at the time than Moore. What is emotionally based about not liking any of those points?
get the tin foil outIt doesn't matter how well the Cowboys play football. The referees now allow defenders to tackle receivers before the ball gets there, unevenly of course. That's the new game, phony phootball. It's where the referees decide who wins and who doesn't. The real question is, do the officials, paid by the league to determine the outcome of games, believe the Cowboys have waited long enough, and tamper with the officiating in order to let them pass?
I'm sticking with "Moore as OC is DEFINITELY a step back" as an emotion based statement, not fact based. When it happens you can crow, or if it doesn't eat crow.
It may not be exactly a fact based statement, but it emotional based either, it is based on logic. Like I said, they way you are making it sound, Jerry hiring a random Joe off the streets, it would be an emotional based statement if the fans disapprove, because they don't know if he is a good coach. Heck, any kind of hiring, if a company promotes an entry level employee to management, it would be an emotional response when people get upset that he got promoted when he hasn't shown that he deserves it, according to that kind of logic. What exactly has Moore done that Warrants such a promotion? I'm far more worried about the people who just accept the promotion than the ones who are upset in this case, because to accept it blindly as being good makes one a sheep.

Well there just isn't enough known about the guy for there to be any facts. Unless he has done a lot of behind the scene things that have proven him to management, there is little evidence that he has been a good Quarterback Coach. That is what is worrisome for a fan of the team, since we have seen other seemingly undeserving people rise up in the coaching ladder, and people are saying the Head coach is still learning to be good here in some previous threads. If your team has that kind of history, and hasn't seemed to produce any worthwhile assistants since the Parcells era, then you should be worried. It's not like we are a well run organization, where other teams want to grab our assistants to promote them and have them coach there. I mean what exactly do you like about Moore?I accept it's not exactly fact based

Interesting question that can't be answered until we see where the teams are to start the next season. How far off will the playoff teams be next season? How about the East? I am not optimistic that they even win the East next season.
What most thought was the future and strength of the team, the D, stepped in it in LA. Will have a new OC and don't know the end result of that. DL and OL need help, pass game needs a TE and maybe a new slot WR. Got some decisions about players for the future as in 2019.

We are a QB away
Do I think we’re close? Not with this owner/GM and HC. Watching the games today was a serious reminder how far away we are. Impossible? No. But under the current regime our chances are basically “even the blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while”, or “a broken clock is right twice a day.” Those are our chances.
