You mean the choker?

No one talks about it because it's "AARON RODGERS", but he's always been a bit of a choker in big games. Snarky and full of his own rightness. No matter how well someone coaches, you can't coach choking away.

And since it came out last year already that Aaron was refusing to run the plays McC called for, makes you wonder just how much of it was on McC?

I don't know exactly what McC is, and you know what? You don't either. Pretending to know something you don't is just so 12 year oldish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And everyone's talking about the weird stuff Mike did the last couple years. Well AR practically took over the team. Probably figured it didn't matter what he does. lol

Initially, I didn't like the hire because I heard that the last few years his offense had gotten flat and predictable which scared me big time. But then I hear about how he's spent his year off from football watching all sorts of games with a bunch of other ex-head coaches and talking about the changes in the game. I think he loves being around football so much, that he was willing to re-evaluate how he does things and make changes to keep up with the modern NFL. Heard he was very impressed with Dak. And for those who say we're just gonna chuck it all over the field in an interview with James Jones the former Packers WR, James said that it's untrue he just airs it out. He ran it quite a bit when they had Eddy Lacy and that Lacy was no Zeke. Like expected Mike to maybe run it a little more knowing he's got a stud at running back.

And yet, you pretend to know about Aaron Rodgers.

Seems like a lot of people here are working hard to convince themselves that McCarthy is a great hire. I'm less thrilled but I'll give him a chance to prove my doubts wrong.

What I'm not going to do is blow a bunch of smoke to try to convince myself or anyone else that Jerry fell in love with the right guy. We'll see.
I've been watching Aaron choke in the playoffs for years. That is what I do know. I've also observed that Aaron freaks when things don't work out perfectly. So, regarding Rodgers, not pretending anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very unsure of McC. What I do know is that we needed a change. We got a guy that I do have hope for. And, being that this is Jerry, I do feel that McC is about the best we were going to do. I've never been much of a McC fan, FWIW.

Doesn't matter what we think, Troy is on board.

The fact that people can claim “McCarthy won because of Aaron Rodgers” is so short sighted.

First off McCarthy was instrumental in Rodgers becoming the qb he is.

Secondly a lot those GB teams had no talent around Rodgers because of bad front office moves. Never had a great running game or defense the majority of time he was there.

McCarthy commands instant respect. He’s won with more and he’s won with less. He can command diva personalities.... the media.... and I think even Jerry.

will it work I don’t know. But it’s a hell of a step in the right direction for a win now team.

What does it matter as long as Jerruh is still calling the shots? Hopefully McCarthy has the balls enough to stand up to him, but I expect his contract is very specific on who makes what decisions.

So far it looks like JJ is letting MM pick his staff so there’s that.

Talked to one of my bud's who is a die hard Packers fan...He said, From what I heard in the past while coaching the Packers, he was a strong presence in the locker room. Can’t argue with his record.

I can't help but feel anything is better than a coach who's team seemed to stop playing with any inspiration. Its almost like the team mailed it in this year just to ensure Garrett was fired. I've been watching this team diligently since 1970

"McCarthy's schemes were too stale, unimaginative and boring. Look what the Packers did this year without him."

The Packers finally spent money on their defense last offseason. That was the big difference.

hilarious.... MM had Brett Farve and AAron Rodgers his entire time in GB.

You know who else was amazing when he had HOF QBs? George Seifert. He went from Montana to Steve young, and he was amazing. A true leader of men, a motivator, an innovator, a multiple SB winning coach.

Strangely, I think he hit his head on the flight to Carolina, because when he started coaching the Panthers, he must have forgot how to coach. That, or he learned that without a HOF qb he was just like every other joe coachng in the NFL and those great schemes dont work so well without Steve Young scrambling around creating havoc on a defense..... alah Russel Wilson.

So if you have a HOF QB the head coach is just along for the ride, that seems to be the point you are making.

So using that logic, why do so many posters have a chubby for Sean Payton? What has he won without Drew Brees?

Garrett couldn't even get to a championship game with TR but AR all by himself won a SB. If he was that good you'd think he win more.

Yep, I'm not following the logic either.

If Aaron Rogers is a one man QB machine that is virtually unstoppable and all the coaches on the sideline can just sit back and relax and watch porn on those Microsoft surfaces instead of going over the plays, then where are all the trophies?

This is Roger's 16th season in the league and he is 36 yrs old and he has exactly 1 SB ring...…...weird, best QB that has ever lived has just 1 ring:huh:
