i know there are many who want QB at 4 over anything else....
This thread is not for you. This is for the folks who are ok w taking a QB later and focusing on defense first.

Going RB at 4 makes no sense right now. It's also pretty high for an injured linebacker. There aren't any WRs in this draft worthy of being picked at 4. And we have one of the best Olines in the league so we don't need to invest in OL that early.
I like Ramsey a ton but I believe the Chargers will grab him at 3.

Every draft pundit out there agrees that Bosa creates a lot of disruption. He's technically sound and immediately brings plenty of skill to any DLine.

He's the #1 rated DL this year and I think a lot of us are turned off because he's not exactly what we want him to be. He's not a quick twitch sack machine that will develop into the next Bruce smith or Reggie white, but he provides exactly what this team needs and what Marinelli looks for.

He can be lined up all over the line, and is excellent against the run. He can help create opportunities for our other linemen. The addition of Thornton upgrades the 1tech spot and will allow a now healthy TCraw to be even better than he was when we decided to extend him. Bosa provides even more help for TCraw and vice versa.

Bosa isn't Greg Hardy but Hardy wasn't exactly Hardy last year either. Bosa is however a lot easier to deal with from a coachs perspective.

Bosa helps solidify the DLine overall and if Gregory decides the weed is just too much to pass up even after his 4 game suspension, we have a 1st rd talent right there to help soften the blow of losing what we believed would turn into a premier pass rusher.

I'm starting to come ALL The way back around to Bosa as our pick at 4.

Jack and Ramsey are blue chips and Bosa isn't. I would add in Zeke but I know we aren't taking him anyway

Did you read the initial post entirely?
I said I love Ramsey but believe he will be gone by 4.
4 is high to pick a LB, especially one coming off of a major injury, and at a spot we already have Lee and McClain.

I'm perfectly fine with the pick of bosa at #4. He fills a need and is good enough to plug right in to the starting lineup. I could see an anthony spencer type of impact. Good vs the run, will get hated on for low sack numbers, but probably provides more pressure than the Stat sheet says. I'm just not married to him though. If we take ramsey, a qb, jack, even elliott I'll be happy. No sure fire blue chip talent but still a lot a good players at 4.

I don't think Ramsey will be gone 100 percent. Buckner and Bosa are charger targets. Bpa says take jack over Bosa

Or Bosa is already off the board.

Well ya. I don't think he will be. I don't see San Diego passing on Ramsey. The big thing for me is hoping Cleveland drafts someone hoping to land Lynch. They had a private workout with him yesterday.

When will you see it next year? im not banking on it him coming in being a great pass rusher I bet zeke will be rookie of the year if he runs behind this line with room checking to the right run plays based on formation of defense... man I thought we trying to win now! keep defense energized

Can't find a single scout or draftnik that has him valued lower than 4...and most have him in the top 2.
So you wouldn't be a wild man to think he's worth the 4th pick.
He's rated higher than all the QBs by pretty much everyone.

Still, I'm fine if Dallas doesn't take him, but won't be jumping off cliffs if they do.

Who is the Chargers starting DE who will cause buckner to not be an option? This ramsey is a lock talk is strange.

For the same reason you eliminated Gregory, you need to eliminate McClain. They are both pot heads who are both one smoke away from being gone a year.

Much rather trade back and get Rankins. Or even Spence. I don't think an SDE is worth the #4 overall pick, especially if he'll be another Anthony Spencer. What we lack is a starting WDE. If we're not gonna address WDE in free agency, we need to address it in the draft. Only player in this draft with more potential than Randy Gregory is probably Spence, but he also has character concerns. Rankins might be the best D-lineman and can play multiple spots on the DL as a rookie before finding his role in this defense. I can see him being another Aaron Donald. This draft is loaded with interior DL talent in almost every round (Rankins, Billings, Robinson in the 1st; Butler, Nkemdiche in the 2nd; Day and more in the 3rd and beyond). I don't see many early round DEs having a huge impact as rookies and even beyond. If Anthony Spencer is what we can expect out of Bosa, then no thanks. Rather go DE in the mid rounds and trying to develop someone. We have a lot of young DE prospects but not a lot of proven DE talent, and we have some proven DT starters but not any young potential behind them. I'd rather get players who can fill very hard roles to fill (like QB) or players with very high ceilings. I see Bosa as more of a short term solution and a marginal long term player.

I would not reach for any RDE this draft, we got options in later RDs.

Someone better watch kazzd after the draft. He might inflict harm on himself if Dallas doesn't take Elliott.
