Do you think Dallas could make a trade for DE with the trade deadline looming?

It's a trade for draft picks. Draft picks are NFC currency. It's cleaner and easier for trades.

Jerry will look at it this way:
-We have a mostly young roster
-We landed 2, maybe 3 first rounders last year
-We have an opportunity here and I'm 74 damn it

As I've said before...I could see the Cowboys offering up to this for a pass rusher that is good and will play at a high level for a few years...

1st round 2017
3rd round 2017
----
2nd round 2018

For a rental player...an older guy... the price would be a lot lower.
I think Stephen convinced Jerry a few years ago that the 1 player away approach was a big reason for 20 years of failure ( Joey Galloway, Roy Williams, etc.).

I think Jerry sees that each time he goes goes against Stephen's plan that it backfires.
Trade up for Claiborne - Jerry
Giving in to Dez contract demands ( Stephen was just going to keep him on the tag until he agreed to their terms).
Signing RoMc to a contract early in 2016.

Jerry followed Stephen's plan on not drafting Manziel.
Jerry followed the plan for not trading up for a QB in 2016.

Note: When I say Stephen's plan, it's really Stephen, McClay and Garrett; however, Stephen is the one that sells it to Jerry.

Teams are coming up short on RBs and Dallas has the best depth in the NFL at RB. Plenty of room for Alfred Morris/Lance Dunbar on the Trade Block.

Yeah, Willie Young is probably the most realistic option out there. I would definitely offer the Bears our 5th.

Just tell the Bears that they (Cowboys) will take him and pay the remainder of his salary this year, then give him back.

Everybody wins. The Bears save money and cap space, the Cowboys get help this season and the player gets to go to the playoffs.

Do you all think Dallas could make a trade for DE with the trade deadline looming? If so, who do guys think Dallas could target? Thanks in advance and GO COWBOYS!!!
Good question..

Problem is teams seem to not do deadline trades anymore.

And if we had a chance to trade..what do we trade?

DMAC?

An OLman?

A QB.?

A TE?

A high draft choice?

More than one of the above ?

How much is too much and how little can we be forced to cough up?

Anything is possible but I would not have any idea who is worth it..

and a DT might be more feasible or a LBer might be even better.

DT tackle for our rotation might be easier to find with a team that isn't playing a 4-3 defense but could be converted from a 3-4 defense..

same with a LBer..it would make sense to find a pass rushing Lber we could move in and out of the DL..

Find me those guys, then maybe we trade.

Otherwise..no.

With a team like Cleveland bombing, shouldn't they be a target?

Who do they have? Looking at the roster now, rookie Ogbah is having a pretty impressive year but no way they'd trade away their young DE who they just drafted with the 32nd overall pick. Their other young pass rusher Nate Orchard was just placed on IR. Then they have 6th round rookie Tyrone Holmes who was recently on waivers and we passed on. There's literally no one on their roster who they would be willing to trade us (so no Ogbah) who would be an upgrade over anyone we have.
