I say kick thompson, depending on how Jackie battle fairs, (although we signed Battle to a 3 year deal right after the darft, right?) but give him fifty thousand under the table to agree to not go to any team in the NFC East.... I know that is illegal probably but that is how I roll.

Battle is just a hardnosed RB who will get a chance to come in and show what he can do. If it is not good enough he will be gone but I'm glad the Cowboys are giving him the opportunity to show himself with this team.

If Battle and Stanback both make the team I wouldn't be surprised to see Stanback as the emergency qb/wr and Battle as the third rb/1st FB. It would give us the chance to carry a couple of extra players we normally couldn't.

I think Battle unseats Thompson because of his speed and strength. I watch all of the Thompson videos a couple of years ago, and while he was fast, he only had straight away speed. Battle appears to have a lot of strength at the goal line. It will be an interesting contest, that's for sure.

I think that would be silly if we put battle at the fullback position ( I do understand your rationale of letting us keep other players on the roster though.). I think he should honestly be used as our back to pound it in.. I know that is MBIII's duty, but MB's physique is fit for that of a cutback running back (even though he is terrible at that IMO), unlike Battle who is 6'3 245, he doesn't worry me that he would wear down so easily. MB does. I say give Battle the goal-line duties next year.
