What world record?

I still don't get why anyone even mentions the Rangers moving. I agree that tradition wouldn't be a big reason to keep either from moving, but the Rangers are already in the smallest division in baseball (4 teams) so why would anyone even think it is a consideration for the Rangers to move?

I agree, it doesn't seem likely that the Rangers would be a team that got moved. Still it is MLB and they do weird things all the time that don't make sense. Nothing they come up with would surprise me.

IF the Rangers did move, it would have to be in conjunction with other moves. They would obviously have to move other teams to make room for the Rangers in another division and to fill the void and get the AL West back up to at least 4 teams.

I think that's why the idea of the Astros moving to the AL West seems to get attentio - because with a single move it would even out MLB so that every division had 5 teams.

That made me chuckle. You think they are going to pass out Oakley's, or maybe something more like the old 3D glasses.

I would hate to see the Astros move to the AL. Since the formation of the NL Central Houston has considered the Chicago Cubs and St Louis the main rivals. They have been the three most active teams in competing for a post season slot. I've always thought the series with the Rangers was cute but really just another series in a long season.

How about this, let's move Florida somewhere out west where fans might actually show up to games (Salt Lake City, Portland, or Vegas?). This team can move into the empty slot in the AL West (providing the Rangers with another punching bag) and Pittsburgh can move back to the NL East.

Nice thought, but MLB doesn't move teams, they only approve moves initiated by the owners of teams.

Realistically, I see one of the two following options as the most reasonable with the least trouble:

1. Move one of the newer teams with less tradition like Colorado or Arizona to the are the most logical to move to the AL to fill a slot in the AL West, but that would necessitate somebody from the NL Central moving to the NL West to replace that team - probably Houston.

2. Move Kansas City back to AL West and move Milwaukee from NL Cetnral to AL Central. Milwaukee has already flopped leagues before.

I know. The Marlins are getting a new stadium next season so they are not going anywhere. I think MLB will take the easy route and move Houston. Fewer teams will protest and the new owner will likely not want to make waves among his new peers.

Haha, thats awesome.

It was a lot of fun to be a part of, and my kids got a kick out of it. There was an official Judge from Guinness that was walking around counting people with the sunglasses on, and the sunglasses weren't bad looking.

Of course, all secondary to a great game, really glad the Rangers were able to come back at take it because Wilson looked awful through the first 5 innings.

move the brewers back to the AL.....

why Selig moved them in the first place, I have no idea....maybe he realized he couldn't compete in the AL with the Yankees and Red Sox....the NL was more wide open, with the Braves being the only consistent threat.

Anyone see them talk about the World Record at Tuesday's Rangers game on the Colbert Report? Pretty cool.
