Do you want Bill back

Get rid of da Bum. While it's true I'm concerned about any possible replacement, I think it safe to say that BP has proven he's not going to take us any further than we got this season. If he stays, next season will be more of the same.

Weapon wise, our offense is 'loaded for bear' but somehow, each and every week, Parcells has them shooting at squirrels with a bb gun. How I long for a HC who will allow them to crank the throttle to just below redline & keep it there instead of wasting gas slightly above idle.

I am SO disgusted by the 'bend but don't break' philosophy of our D. In that role, we are little more than palm trees on the beach during a hurricane. Give me a D coord with a 'fix bayonets and charge' mentality, that mixes things up so well that opposing offenses will never know where the knockout punch is comming from. We should BE the hurricane and challenge any and all comers to withstand our wrath.

Git 'er done Jerry.

The "bird in the hand" philosophy has me torn, somewhat. There are very real pros and cons to BP's decision. If he stays another year, yep, we have a lame duck coach and the downside is obvious. His record as Cowboys HC is not stellar, as we all know. However, if Bill calls it quits, and heads for Florida and a monthly visit with his bud LaRussa for spring training, Jerry then has some serious work to do, finding the right fit as new HC and some new assistants. Neither scenario is exactly thrilling, but that's reality. At least we only have 496 candidates left for Jerry to peruse.
If Bill does stay, I hope he at least states that this is it, his last year, no more, so we dont have this yearly exercise to go through with his period of reflection about whether he wants to continue or not.

No I am tired of him.We will end up wasting another year. Trust me we better be moving on.Imagine if you are a player ,and you know your coach did poorly last year and yet he will only last one more year, You will almost ignore him.
He lost the respect because of his record and no one will fear one year coach.

I like Parcells.

When we signed him I was thrilled, ... I never dreamed that after 4 yrs I would be disappointed.

No playoff wins, no division titles, owned by a divisional rival, one season with double digit wins.

I'm disappointed.

We could do worse, but we could do better.

But...But...But...You must want the Campo years back!:D

I would rather Parcells coach for the next 50 yrs before I would want to go back to the Campo years.

It would be better to just let the veterans run the team, I think we could go 5-11 with no HC.

I agree he is a very good judge of talent but cannot gameplan well.I still like BP,but its time to go,he has failed, sad to say.

Bill is a good guy, love his press conferences, and am really up in the air about this vote but.. unless he were to let a defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator to come in here and allow them a little freedom, I want him gone.

We have a few problems here:
  • BP will be here at most another year or two, possibly none
  • it looks unlikely (but not impossible) that the new DC will not only NOT come from outside the organization, but also not be a viable replacement
  • many of us are skeptical of Jones finding an adequate replacement and sticking with the mostly hands-off approach of the last 4 years (whther true or not), whether this year or next
Not a pretty picture, but it isn't really painted yet.

The wait-and-see approach, which seems the most likely, assumes there will be better candidates this time next year. Whether the team improves substantially (we have some confidence on offense, save the nors-clones) is pretty much up in the air this time of year. I think the main objection here is the prospect of fans enduring a season similar to this year worst-case.

While I'm not normally in favor of change for its own sake, something dramatic is needed to shake this team up. If Jones doesn't believe that, I have no idea if we're looking at a better record next year or not. Talent alone does not a winner make.

We are assuming that if JJ wants to spend the money, he can get whoever he wants, but we don't know if in doing so, he'll continue to stay out of the way.

No..............

After having said that...I believe he will be.

I predict.

Strong start.
Another December collapse.
Another year of saying "we're close"......"Just wait to next year"

I believe it will be five and done and if he lucks out and pulls it together this upcoming season then revisionist history will remember it as if it were a successful five year plan.

I would normally say YES let him finish what he started with T.R.
BUT ,I'm leaning toward NO ,because he's taking so long to decide.

If he really wanted to come back he would have stated it already.

His hesitence is a problem for me.
