You guys ever see the media clip where he has a throw off with the other QB and he can't hit one f@$&ing target?!

No I don't want him back unless he signs for 33 for 5 yrs.

Since a year has passed, I like to see Dak settle for a max of $35 mil for four years! The FO would get their last offer taken, plus allow Dak four years, instead of five, for the contract length. Any more, in excess of than that and he can always go elsewhere to seek his fortune! Let's face it -- this team isn't very likely to be a contender this year nor next.

I think that's what's fair for everyone involved. I'd like to see us drafting a QB anytime after the first round for another QB. Dak is a very good QB but not great, imho, and will need a very good defense to succeed. He should also be required to demonstrate a full recovery from his broken ankle to get that generous offer. His agent should also come back to earth or else, be sent wherever he and Dak choose to go.

Romo was my favorite player. His body just couldn’t hold up unfortunately.

Romo wasn't my favorite player, but he's pretty high up on the list.

However, he had 8 seasons in which he played 13 or more games. Never got past the second round of the playoffs. Including a season in which the team had 13 Pro Bowlers. He just couldn't "get 'er done".

But that has no bearing on my liking him, every player and every team is different, quarterbacks far too often get too much blame, and credit, for winning important games.

And it will be the same with Dak, at least for me...

Agree that it's fair, especially now with the severe injury. Yes he may recover 100% this year with the ankle, but that's not to say it won't ever bother him again, and it's a pretty good bet his running will be restricted, Stephen is already on record before that he doesn't want Dak running. And that's a part of Dak's success to this point. If he has an opportunity to run, and has to get another 2-3-4-5 yards and can't slide, will he do it? Or will he listen to the coaches/owners and slide anyway, resulting in no first down, no touchdown, etc.?

Guess we'll find out next year, with Dallas or somebody else...

I said no only because I don't think he is worth 40 mil/season. Especially on a shorter term deal. If Dak wants a shorter term deal, he should take a lesser salary. That's how this works, you know, the team and the agent dicker about what each wants and try to come to an agreement. Except Dak's agent wasn't interested in agreeing and threw the entire negotiation away.

Over 75% elect to keep a QB who relies upon his mobility to be at his most effective and is coming off a serious leg injury and would need to be paid $35+ million a year...says it all about this fan base.

Precious few are worth Mahomes money, Dak's not alone in that. Though what someone's "worth" can be defined as what someone will pay. Is a high end Ferrari "worth" hundreds of thousands or even a million dollars? Not to me, when a $150,000 Corvette is the equal, or nearly the equal, of the Ferrari, performance-wise. (Looks are nearly entirely subjective, can't really speak to what people think about that). I couldn't say the Ferrari is worth it. But people do pay it, obviously to them it is "worth" it. If Dallas did pay Dak Mahomes money, then by some definitions he would be "worth" it.

Actually I don't think Mahomes is worth his contract, either, over $140,000,00 guaranteed, the injury and other risks are big, for an NFL player. Basically the Chiefs are betting the house that Mahomes can deliver at least another 3 SBs, otherwise he's getting paid a huge amount of money for a pretty good career, but not an exceptional one, which $450 million should buy you.

As far as the "200+" is concerned (and I'm one of them, though I did say I'm speaking to this year only at this time), that is, according to the results so far, over 3/4 of the voters. If you don't share their opinion, fine, but dissing over 3/4 of the people who voted isn't necessary or useful....

The point is.....I don't trust the numbers.....Can I get a recount? Are there mail in ballots?

I’d like Dak to get away from this team and have a chance to win. I wouldn’t mind seeing a QB carousel for about 5-6 years like we did between Aikman and Romo. Fanbase deserves to see that again.

You want to stick it to the fan base more than see the cowboys win?

I am fine with him being back (or fine with him not being back).

I want a top 5 pick used on a quarterback.

Leaving aside Dak's performance for a minute, he's 28. In 2 years, he'll be 30. If he's taken us to a championship game in the next two years, we can stick with him and entertain trades for Zach Wilson or whoever. If we haven't progressed, then it's clearly time to move on.

If there had been an option that said, “Dakota being here for the salary commensurate with his actual ability”, I would have voted yes

He can drive the bus provided we can put a stout defense to compliment his shortcomings at elevating his game against good defenses

I would've selected Yes, for the right price as well. Don't think he is a bus driver, but I don't want to be in cap hell because of him. Also, that he didn't sign what seemed like a fair deal to me, makes me feel somewhat like maybe he doesn't want to be here, and that makes me less sad to see him go if he decides to.
