As just reported on the Buffalo (NBC) 6:00pm newscast.

Also said that it does appear that Nate Clements is signing with the 49ers and London Fletcher with the Skins (Fletcher is attending an NBA game in Washington with Commanders' braintrust according to the station).

With how expensive Dielman and Steinbach are looking, Davis is probably the best we can do at guard.

If those numbers are true, then things are really getting crazy. Thats more then Hutchinson got I think- and NO WAY is Dockery in Hutchinson's class- not even CLOSE!!

We haven't overpayed for anyone like this. Thats the difference. That is an insane amount of money to give to a guy whos a decent guard at best.

thats why I'd just assume draft somebody...Davis isnt that good, and he definitely isnt worth the kind of money I've seen posted on here

we can get a 2nd or 3rd rd pick, coach them up and do at least what a Davis would do

As a guard, Davis is at least as good as Dockery and maybe better; so that is the least he will go for; Dielman and Steinbach will go MUCH higher!!

The signing bonuses I've seen so far on these O-lineman are flat-out ridiculous.

CO-SIGN!!!

Forget this "overpaying mediocre players because that's what the market dictates" bull!!

I'd rather draft one or two big lugs and have 'em coached up some and use that money towards re-signing Romo, Newman and anyone else deemed worthy.

Procter and McQuistan, though as green as can be certainly are starting to look better with these types of contracts being thrown around.

That's just a ludicrous contract for a player with Derrick's pedigree... I'll guarantee that it's severely backloaded...

I mean, he got just barely less than Eric Steinbach got with the Browns (7 years, 49.5 mil, 17 mil signing bonus)...

That just made Leonard Davis even more expensive... Dockery's first year cap impact will be a little over 3 mil, Leonard's should go 3.5 million or more...

I told you guys the money some of these players are gonna make this year would make you say "WHAT????"

A fullback gets a 3 million a year deal... now, a guard who's never gotten near a Pro Bowl gets a 7 million a year deal...

Oh well, the good news is the Skins now have a gaping hole at RG... and as things stand now, their top backup at the position would be Mike Pucillo... after that, you have the immortal Taylor Whitley, Will Whitticker and Kili Lefotu...

Like I said, a GAPING hole at guard...

guards can be plugged in...they are not key pieces to winning championships...Joe Bugel is a good OL coach...they can easily stick someone in there to do what Dockery was doing

they didnt lose Larry Allen in his prime or anything

But so do we :eek::

I'm not counting on Rivera.

On the other hand, at least we have our draft picks and can more easily fortify the position.

As a Cowboy fan I would love to have Dallas sign one of these guards... as a businessman I'd go berserk if they sign some average guard for that kind of scratch.
