Cocaine Cowboys.
Expelled:No Intelligence allowed.
Anvil:The Story of Anvil.

and I concur with the Michael Moore remark.

"Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" is a GREAT one! I would highly recommend that to anyone.

Ah yes. I almost forgot about 'Cocain Cowboys'. That's definitely a good watch. It's amazing just how much of the skyline of Miami was built using drug money.

Part 2 is ok,but nowhere near part one quality.

Definitely Ben Stein hit a home run with this one.

I live by one rule. Don't ever listen to an Aggie.

Then take the same advice from me. Avoid anything from him at all costs. They're painfully bad.

Painfully biased propaganda tools.
His agenda is obvious, and truth is expendable in his "work".

Helvetica (2007)

It's a documentary about the font Helvetica. If you're into print or design, it's a very good documentary.

I really like any thing to do with old west

Lweis & Clark
Oregon Trail
Civil War
Custers Lst Stand

Pbs had this fictional one about a family moving west from Virginia to Califonia over - I thought was great - wish I new the name - but it is probably pretty close as to what happened

It is very well made though several of his points are intellectually dishonest strawman arguments. Overall a pretty good watch, though.

Several good ones have been mentioned...I liked King Corn but maybe I'm dull. In general I would recommend checking out the movie's wikipedia page before watching it. It's hard to tell when something's biased or just disagrees with you when you're watching it--trick editting and whatnot. Checking wikipedia can filter out some of the really misleading stuff.

Moore's work is the classic example of that kind of thing, but Expelled took some pretty serious heat for that kind of thing too.

I believe it may have been

Into the West

552 min

Tales from the American West in the 19th century, told from the perspective of two families, one of white settlers and one of Native Americans.

Over six 90-minute episodes, Into The West follows the experiences of two families in the period 1825 to 1892; one, a Virginia family moving west to search for a new life, the other, a Native American tribe.

great program - I can see why I can't fugure out who my 5 great grand mother is

Sweet. You won't regret it.

King Corn was alright. It was interesting just how there is absolutely no money in growing corn unless the government throws money at it. It just wasn't all that entertaining.

I watched it. Was great, but I would have killed that dude who cut my line. LOL

Any of you have favorite documentaries or any recommendations. I'm a documentary buff. So I'll add a whole bunch I like later. Just wanted to start a thread about docs!

Love Documentaries, most of the movies today focus on special effects and less in the story.

Some that I've seen recently are Crude - about Chevron dumping oil waste in the Amazon.

Walmart - the High cost of Lower Prices.

Wasteland

The Devil's Miners.

I've seen this. But the fact is it's the skyline over Texas, Arizona, California...etc. They just focused on Florida for the film.

I've been watching a lot of them on fuel and one thing is for sure. We don't need to be using bio fuel, but there are much more feasible things to use than oil. That is obvious.

You mean like my Aggie remark? All in good fun, bro. But I don't mind Micheal Moore so much. I'm able to decipher his agenda from some of his valid or invalid points..
