Does anyone else think different and better coaching could help Dak?

Dak can't run a fancy innovative offense. It has to be simple aka Dak friendly. So either Dak has to get smarter or he needs better talent around him. But wait.... Dak also wants top dollar as a QB because he thinks he is the man. So now now you expect a top dollar QB to carry the team. But he has shown time and time again that he can't do that. Remember when we let Dez go and then after 8 weeks traded for Amari Cooper cause Dak was so bad? So now Dak has hamstrung the team financially and can't carry the team. You can't bring in more talent to help him so you have to rely on the draft. That's where we are stuck at. Vastly overpaid a limited skill QB who is inaccurate and has a weak arm. 20 mil should have been his contract max.

THe guy is now 7 years in the NFL. 4 years of college.

he had enough different coaches. And the narrative i always hear is: would a better/different coach help him.

Help him to what ? Help him accept that he should end his career because he is not NFL material ?

All we need is a better/different GM that knows how to evaluate players and makes the right decissions.

All a coaching change accomplishes is creating a new scapegoat.

Mike McCarthy is proven in this league. Kellen Moore is a younger mind, and while he drives me crazy sometimes I think KM has quietly had a solid year as OC. Doug Nussmeier has a heck of a good history with QB development going back to Marc Bulger.

At some point players have to make plays. While I don't love everything that KM has to offer this offense plays have been there, including this past game.
Ditto on Doug Nussmeier. You can only do so much. Dak has reached his zenith in 7years. Time to take the position in a new direction.

THIS. THIS and MORE THIS.
Stop excusing the on field ball in his hand decision maker!

It's pathetic at this point.

I don't know much about Doug Nussmeier, but I think Dak is helpless.
He hasn't improved much in his 7 year as QB.

I certainly don't think it would hurt. If Jerry wants to continue to hang on to Moore, and it's near impossible to move on from Dak's contract right now...then I would consider approaching a guy like Kurt Warner to be QB coach and assistant OC. Let Nussmeier go back to coaching TE's or whatever. Warner has had zero problem constructively criticizing both Dak and Moore in his breakdowns, and both sorely need that at times. Seems too comfortable and buddy-buddy as things currently sit.

There are no coaches that can turn Dak into a consistent QB. You would need a miracle worker for that.

Yes. Dak’s rookie season they kept it simple and ran a lot of play action with a healthy dose of a potent running attack. This is the recipe to have Dak play well enough to be successful. Running four wide in the shotgun with no serious threat of a run game is the recipe for disaster. He is not Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Kellen Moore insists on running that offense with Dak. Kellen Moore’s inability to call or even design a trick play successfully is an absolute joke. Thank Jerry for the gross negligence of handing the reigns to an inexperienced play calling like Moore. McCarthy is crazy to have had Jerry force Moore on him.

Sadly that’s the situation they will be in for the next few years! Looking for a miracle coach, then the snake oil salesman can go to work!

no. WHAT YOU GOT IS THE 7 YEAR PROGRESSION. when a rookie qb comes out and shines like that the show is over next year if dak stumbles any good gm worth his salt would tell him the party is over and seek a trade you might get a 5th round for him and that might be rich for a lot of teams but it wouldn't hurt to try. lets face it basic reality is you have to have to much talent around him for him to win and for that you would better off exploring other options to date Romo and dak are equal in there playoff record sad novel in itself no NFC TITLE GAMES. but remember jerry is getting the al davis syndrome and won't take the cure which is hire a real GM so there you go dumb and dumber will still be in charge

Not directed at anyone, but how many people were crowing when we averaged 35 points a game when Dak came back? Or all off season when last year we were the number 1 scoring offense? Did Moore not have anything to do with that?

Moore drives me crazy with some of his play calls, but does anyone really think he's not calling a game that he doesn't lend itself to Dak's strengths? That would be career suicide. Whether we agree with how he calls a game or not is irrelevant, he's doing his best to put Dak in a position to succeed.

Like I stated, I am not a fan of a lot of the plays called, but I believe he's limited in what he can call.

Dak has had me on both sides of the fence so many times now that I'm not even sure where I stand. He builds up my faith in him only to have it crash again.

But he's our QB, and whatever Mike thinks is the best for him is what we have to go with. But I don't think Mike has that power. I would love to see Mike call the plays for a few games and see what happens.

Coaching matters. People were screaming about how the players just don't execute and coaching doesn't really matter until Dan Quinn came in and completely revamped the defense.

Kellen Moore may be smart, but he doesn't have the experience to really coach up players when it matters and he doesn't have the deep playoff experience to know what to call during crunch time. He's still learning.

What does Mike McCarthy do exactly?

It's hard to win when 2 or your three coaches have either the flaw of inexperience or apathy.
Mike does the exact same thing Jimmy did, manages the team and let the coaches coach. Jimmy did it with a lot more flair, but I see no difference in the way they oversee the team. Jimmy had the advantage of Jerry being green behind the ears, thus having a lot more say on players and just about everything else.

Which you know we can't do because of his contract's effect on the salary cap.
We can to an extent but it will have to come thru the draft on Rookie contracts.

Ultimately this situation overpaying Prescott is on our ownership for paying him like he’s Elite and then hyping him as such to try and justify.
