I think, in general, he's get too much credit. I'd rather have Marino, Elway, Payton Manning, Montana, Unitas, Roger, Troy and probably several others if i think about it as my QB.

I agree. I mean, I think he is a great QB but he is not who I would pick if I were able to choose anybody. Heck, IMO, I believe Bart Starr was the best Packer QB. That's just me.

For some of us, it's showing something BESIDES Brett Favre coverage. Yeah there are those who want to see a classic game, but I bet there are alot more fans, non-Cowboy fans included, who'd rather catch something else about the latest Favre update.

Seriously, tell me how important is it to replay the same vid of him and his wife stepping off the charter in GB. How important to show replays of the same analysis of how/why it fell apart in GB. Please explain how the replays even in the middle of the night is current news...when the actual event occurred 10 hours.

It's one thing to appear unbiased and fair, abs, but let's not get ridiculous. There's alot more going on in the NFL than the Favre-GB saga.

For the past week or so, every sports news station has tortured us literally with minute-by-minute updates of nothing. I could not understand how I turn to ESPNEWS and they're showing a reporter discussing the fact that he and McCarthy were having a meeting. Said meeting lasted 5 hours and yet ESPNEWS provided 30 min updates of the fact that there was no update. That's ridiculous to me.

Oh, I understand he's over exposed -- but again, I totally understand why NFLN is showing that stuff. He just got traded -- interest from NYC fans right now is really high and that's a huge market.

You want to see your replay -- but my guess is that there are tons of NYC fans who want to learn all they can about Favre -- face it - he's the hot story right now - that's why he's on. The last thing NFLN wants to be is another ESPN Classic - they are going to favor fresh stuff over classics whenever they can.

I'm assuming you would rather see Farve scratch his jock? C'mon, we are just a bunch of unemployed hick Cowpoke fans.

Learn all they can about Farve? What else do we to learn we havent learned over the past 3 months? Like my man said, this is a Cowboys fan site. We can ***** and moan all we want about piss-poor programming when it does or does not involve our team. Go get ya some favra news sonny.

who the hell is this guy?
The trade is over and done. We don't need to see him arriving in a plane to NYC. We all know where he is going, what he is going to do, and we are ALL tired of it. This news is not so BREAKING any more. So, I too would like to see the classic replay. And maybe you get off your *** high horse.

I love the fact he's flying around with his wife and they get off the plane waving like the are the prez and first lady.

There was a reporter from Wis. on ESPN yesterday ripping bret because he said during the hours long meeting he had, the wife called with an emergency so bret up and left the meeting with the front office people and returned later. Can you imagine if a normal employee tried that with the brass of his company? I think I'd tell wifey to handle the situation because I'm a bit busy, but not these prima donna favre's:mad:

I don't care to see any more Favre coverage -- my point is and has been HE JUST FREAKING GOT TRADED. Why else do you think he's getting covered?

How much TO coverage was there when we got him? Around the freaking clock. See how that works?

If you know he's overexposed, then you should probably be a bit more understanding with fans who'd rather watch an old football game vs the latest nothing news update.

To interrupt their regular programming was ridiculous. They could've provided their usual NFL Films filler and it would've made more sense than discussing Favre for two hours. Their analysis provided nothing new to what was going on.

Yeah the trade just happened, but it happened at 11p or so last night. So it makes sense to show Favre news all day TODAY...AND provide up-to-the minute analysis.

However, there's been nothing happening in the past week or so to warrant the amount of coverage its garnered. A 5-10 segment at the end of NFLTA would've been fine, because there was nothing imminent about to happen.

Oh I understand it -- but they need to understand why they aren't getting what they want. Big name player going to a big market. Expect even more coverage over the next week.

See how this works. The original poster just wanted to call and voice his displeasure. You decided to tell him how things work in the media....like we dont know. And then decided to call us unemployed. Taking personal stabs at a poster for being fed up with the Farve crap, will only get you tossed around like a cheap hooker.

Cheap hooker? I guess that is all the unemployed can afford, eh?

I was under the impression that the "NFL Total Access" program was their version of sports center and that was when they covered up to the minute news and the rest of the time it was previously scheduled programing? But i guess favre changes everything having to do with the NFL.

wrong, the trade happened last night, was announced at 11:34 last night, best i remember but before midnigh, not today;

second, dallas cowboys fan base is the largest in the nfl

nfl network does choose bad ideals, i think where they fail is that they dont ask the average nfl fan, but they go off of people like brian gumble, rod woodson (whom nobody really likes, you can tell he is biased to certain teams). Which your not suppose to be partial to teams when your on a broadcast show.

I do think they made a good choice in warren sapp, granted he is silly sometimes, but in some ways, its good to get a good perspective on a defensive linemen or offensive linemen, most big linemen are more jolly, creative in speech and carrying themselves over,

granted sapp can be obnoxious at times too

i want to thann all of you for posting and the ones that have called in to compalin to nfl network or if you emailed them.

Sometimes when you complain enough in numbers, you can get alot more done.

again, the nfl network may play the cowboys vikes game at 3:30 , at least they are showing that on the guide, but they also showed they would cover the jets press conference at 5 pm too

also, i do agree brett loves all of this attention, but come on, enough is enough;

as far as unemployed, etc and old games, if you watch these games, you see how the former cowboys played, and came back from a defeceit when in reallty they should have been beaten, and some of us work at home in a business or at late at night, so that blows that theory away

in this game, and before i begin on this subject, because i always like what woodysgirl puts up, she puts up some good cowboy stuff and she is pretty too. That in this game, you see a championship team, playing like champions, even though they in reality are a young team due to the dirty dozen squad.

the leaders on this team step up, rayfield wright, preston pearson, roger staubach, charley waters, team leaders, thats what you need in a championship team.

so in that regards, look out they are outplayed most of the game against the giants, but they hang in there till the end and win, thats what champions do

which leads me to the current cowboys, i think now witten, T O, Romo, Bradie james, newman, tank johnson, Bigg, are all leaders and they along with zach thomas, adam jones, felix jones, mike jenkins, scandrick, Bennett when needed, all lwill step up and help this team become champions,

I think jason garrett has learned from last year, and he is growing as a leader and possibly head coach one day, you could sense that in his talks last night on HBO, thats how champions play, so watch this game if they show it.

For me, the problem really stems from the fact that the NFL will not allow teams to have there own independant channels. They basically force you to buy the network if you want to watch all the games and that's really not right but it is business and I understand that. I just don't like that I pay a premium for Favre 24x7 seemingly every time something happens with Favre. I know he's a big star in the NFL but it kinda Irks me.

it.

This is the first full news day following the trade. Happy?

The cowboys fan base is largest yes, but that is relevant only to new news. The biggest TV market just acquired the biggest name player. That's going to get a ton of coverage whether folks are sick of it or not and it is obviously going to take precedent over a replay

You might say that you understand, but your attitude and the tone in your posts have been less than understanding. Just saying.

Folks on here aren't stupid, contrary to your earlier post. Of course they understand the way the 24-7 news cycle works.

But they also want to rant and this forum allows them to do that. Cuz it's not about suggesting that the NFL Network should be the Cowboys network. It's about the fact that something other than Favre was scheduled to show and was pre-empted by yet more Favre coverage.

Srsly tho, he's been in the league 17 years. I can't imagine many fans not knowing about his career up to this point. Babies have been, raised, and graduated from high school since he's been in the league.

Of course, if there were independent channels, we'd be complaining about Hard Knocks I being on all the time.

I was just reading this thread and this was pretty lame attempt at a diss. It actually made me roll my eyes. So this goes for you...

Now back to your regular Favre Programming..

They want understanding? Maybe they can ask the cheap hooker they keep referring to.

I have no issue with people complaining here -- the issue of complaining to the NFLN remains useless and silly

It's the friend you know. Personally, I liked the Cowboys Channel, even the re-runs of things. That's just me.
