It's a recording. The message is as follows:

" Hello, and thank you for calling the NFL Network Programing Division. We can't take your call now because we are attending the Brett Favre NY Jets Introduction Gala Event. We are so proud of our Brett and so happy for the City of New York. However, if you leave a message, we will be happy to return the call at our earliest convenience. Have a great day and remember, J-E-T-S Jets...... Jets......Jets!!!!!

:laugh2: That is probably exactly what the producers of the station are thinking. If Marriucci(sp) ran the station we would have Brett Favre tributes until Week One.

They do this all the time. The NFLN is always going to break for current news, i.e. press conferences and such, rather than show a game from 1975.

Some one gets it.

The favre stuff if live and current is warranted but not old highlights of favre, hours of news and hipothetical discussion on favre.

If this Dallas / Minn is a broadcast replay then I'm really upset. I've never seen a broadcast replay so that's really special.

At least reschedule and announce it with the ongoing graphics at the bottom of the screen especially since they have the "what's on now" graphic.

Yeah, I just called and gave the nfl network a piece of my mind. That Favre issue and the Jets connection is silly. Anyone else that wants to call, its on the first page of this post to complain.

Thats 7 times the NFL Network has cut into Cowboys programming or cut out the cowboys programming, since February with all of the Favre drama, enough is enough.
I know you're upset with them, but I hope you warned them about Google.....

Wow, instead of showing an old game, the NFL Network is concentrating on CURRENT news.

Do people realize what they are complaining about?
So nothing else but Favre is happeing in the NFL.
We are doomed this year, I sure hope Favre doens't blow his achilles (SP).

Let's see - what are fans more interested in now? Favre? or an old Cowboy game.

NFL Network. Not Cowboys network.
That's spoken like a guy who doesn't even get the NFL network.
If you are truly interested in watching Farve discussions for 2 hrs and then watching it looped for the next 10 hrs then go to the Packers message board and live it up cheesehead.
The NFL network knocking off the Cowboys game is just a part of the NFL network's problems. They do not show enough content in my opinion. Especially in the off-season. Re-running the same shows all day long should not happen on this network. They are sitting on a goldmine of great games that never makes it on the air because they run the same stuff day after day.
Anyone who actually watches this network knows what I am talking about.
I like the NFL access show...in fact I like it much better than Sportcenter on ESPN. But as much great stuff from NFL films and the great games that the NFL has on hand, there is no reason to run NFL access for 10hrs straight. That happens on a slow day in the off-season not just now with what is happening with Farve.

Mr. J-Dog, you nailed it. There are thousands of great games on broadcast tape and there is no telling how far back they have of broadcast games on tape. Play the great games, maybe even twice but don't play mediocre games 3 and 4 times along with replays of studio discussion over and over. What a waste of a potentially great network.

I've got probably 40 of the Dallas games starting in 1990 through Troy Aikman's retireing along with a handful of games from the late 70's and early 80's and I've watched all of them over years. My oldest son is 19 so he and I have watched a few of the great games 1991, 1992 together so he can appreciate how good and special those teams were.

I'm of the opinion that the 1992 team was the best team ever and I've got most of the games on tape from that season.

But I still will watch other teams who have played in great games if the broadcast is replayed. The 1972 Super Bowl between the Dolphins and Commanders was shown about 2 or 3 months ago. Great game, I really liked Curt Gowdy, what memories, great job NFL network, SHOW SOME MORE!

Surely there's others who feel like we do.

I don't really care to see old games from 1975, but I would like to see something other than 24 hours of Brett Favre. I mean, there is a such thing as training camp going on.

How about training camp battles or focusing on camp surprising players or how the first round draft picks are adjusting? I get more camp news from dcfanatic for free than I EVER would from NFLN. I still don't know what in the world McFadden is doing in Oakland.

But instead of camp updates, we get crap like....

***BREAKING NEWS***

Brett Favre puts on a New York Jets baseball cap for the first time. Coming up in 25 minutes we will hear live analysis from Emmitt Smith about Favre and his initial putting on of the Jets baseball cap. But first, BREAKING NEWS, Brett Favre is in New York RIGHT NOW getting a coney dog. We will have more on this story after we bring you more BREAKING NEWS! Brett Favre says that he plans to win games for the Jets....

This just in. Brett Favre refused to take pictures with his new Jets Jersey on.

No BS on that one. That was actually a report I heard last night.

First off, nfl network is a fan based driven entity and they do realize this. that being said, they are aware of the dallas cowboy nation not being to happy with the game not being aired. I was told that, more than likely it will re-air in september during the nfl classic regularly scheduled show-time (7pm central, fridays). I don't know if its just in september or every friday night from now on for sure but, was also told that we should check their website regularly to find out for rescheduling etc... One last thing, they said that game has never been shown since it was first broadcast!
If you don't care about watching this game, then your not bleeding Dallas Cowboy colors!!

, great post, and thanks for the information, i looked up on my remote on directtv and i couldnt find the rescheduling of the cowboys vikings 1975 game for the next 2 weeks. Now at least i know what to look for and maybe when to find it.

Its true too, i didnt remember seeing that game ever being shown before, and now smoe proof that it has never been seen since the game was played. My main point is this, just like you posted, if you havent seen the game, how can you judge the game? If you say your a die hard dallas cowboy fan, you should at least want to watch it because of cowboys history.
Next, like you said, if you dont care about watching this game, then your not bleeding Dallas Cowboys colors. Of course each person is entilted to their opinion. Then in this game, you will see what it means to have leadership on the team and experience, because leaders like Roger Staubach, Preston Pearson, Rayfield Wright, Preston Pearson, Charley Waters and Cliff Harris.
WE all have talked about how this team needs leadership for players to step up and be accountable, this game shows that. Even though the Vikings were winning, and kicking Dallas all over the field, the Cowboys found a way to win and believe. They didnt get down on themselves, thats where leadership comes in. You learn from veteran players, and players with heart like preston pearson, and roger staubach, thats what this young team needs to see and play like. Hopefully they wont have to play a game like that this year, due to the fact, the cowboys were in 2 games like that last year, the buffalo game and the detroit game.
After you take that step, you progress onto the next step. Now the young Cowboy players are showing that desire to win and play.
Thats why I suggested this game. joe

Oh I understand it -- but they need to understand why they aren't getting what they want. Big name player going to a big market. Expect even more coverage over the next week.

the Favre coverage isnt about him going to New York, at all, they had a "Favre Watch" on ESPN, before he was even brought back

it's the infatuation that every sports media has w/ him, it's ridiculous

I was under the impression that the "NFL Total Access" program was their version of sports center and that was when they covered up to the minute news and the rest of the time it was previously scheduled programing? But i guess favre changes everything having to do with the NFL.

it's because Favre is why we watch the NFL, or *insert other cliched, fun, Favre comment*
