Does anyone know the details of Bradie James contract?

I don't care if Bradie James is a Cowboy or not as long as he isn't on the field.

Just my opinion.

That's such a crazy opinion to have, considering he WILL be on the field...and quite a bit I imagine.

With Wade and Co. coming in, I think it's best to give all the guys a fresh slate. We know what they did under Parcells. And if Parcells were coming back, I might be a little more concerned. New coaching staff, new scheme, new plays, new roles, how do you not give these guys a chance to get on the field to prove that last year's play was an anomaly. That includes every player whose play has been questionable.

I think that would be wisest. Hopefully Jerrah can shut the **** up and let Wade Phillips but the Best players that he feels are the best on the field regardless of tenure or contract situations/obligations. That might rub people the wrong way but this is a business. Wade Phillips' wants to keep his job too.

Bradie's not even the best looking guy on the squad. My appreciation of his appearance has nothing to do with my opinion on his play on the field.

My earlier opinion applies to all 53 and whoever was on the practice squad last year. Clean slate for me and so far except for a few comments here and there, I've been ok with what's been coming out of Valley Ranch.

I may be in the minority but I don't think James is as bad as what many think. I thought he played decently in '05 and the first part of '06. I think his drop-off had as much to do with overuse as anything else.

You are definitely in the minority, Winks. It's sacrilege to think that James wasn't as bad as he's been made out to be. His play was the root of all that went wrong with the 'boys last year...or so I've been told.

I agree with you, BTW. I think he didn't play well down the stretch. So I'm hoping he picks it up, cuz he definitely was sucking it up at the end of last season.

So, you are saying he ain't no Woody?

Stop it you guys! I know what you are thinking, but you must resist a softball like that!

Adam, since he got his bonus in 2006 and that year wasn't part of his 5 year extension, were we able to pro-rate his signing bonus over 2006 as well, meaning it's 8 million spread over 6 years?

His bonus was prorated from 2006 through 2010. The maximum proration last year was five years. So there's no proration for 2011.

I'm starting to think he was just playing with a sore knee;)

im with MichaelWinicki.. i dont think james is that bad i think hes a better than average starting LB.. His Year wasnt too bad last year .. and im sure hed be back to his 2005 form

I'm sure James wasn't the sole reason for our defensive let down, but he was a big part of it.

I hope he improves his play, or I'm sure he won't be around for 2008.

Rivera's contract is going to hit us for a ton of negative money.

We are hoping Rivera retires, which is unlikely because Rivera knows he has alot of money left to be made this year. He is going to pull a Marshall Faulk more likely than not; stay one more year to collect his lettuce and then retire. Rivera knows he is not going to start this year...I don't blame him, shoot I wuould to the same; however he is pissing me off because he is eating up cap space IMO

Why would you want to cut a LB who is a FORCE against the run...He is a very good run stopper. We would just replace him on passing downs etc....You don't cut a guy like him...this is a very dumb idea...

You are not alone but consider yourself in good company. :D

In 2005 Bradie played very well and we all couldn't wait to get him resigned...now he has a down year and we want hum cut. My oh my...let's give the guy a break. James is not good in coverage, however he is very good at run D...I trust this new defensive scheme will try and use him to his strengths. We need 3 good ILB's in the 34 anyways...I see Akin, Carp, and James playing in the middle and doing a great job this year. James has a great attitude and is a team leader...he will bounce back.
