Coming out of college the resemblance between the two was like it was a new Troy Aikman being born.....physically they are identical, almost look alikes....both big strong, average mobility, strong as hell arm....in his 3rd year Palmer appears on the verge of becoming a great QB, who knows can Cincy be the next AFC team, Palmer, and the Johnsons, the new triplets.....although Rudi is no Emmitt....

point is Palmer looks and plays like a young Aikman....almost spooky!!!

ya he does remind me of Aikman, but with darker hair. Palmer has a great future ahead of him.

From an athletic standpoint, Palmer looks to be the better physical specimin

However, he has a LONG way to go before he can be put in Troy's league.

You are out of your mind.

I like the kid and was sayign he'd be good when he was still "over rated" in the opinions of most, but he's not in Aikman's league yet. By any wild stretch of the imagination.

Better than Troy? Please. The day Palmer can show off 3 rings and a Super Bowl MVP is the day I will listen. Lets face it, Troy made those around him better and thats an intangible that stats cant measure. But Super Bowl victories can.

Palmer's got a stronger arm and might be better deep but you can't say he's better yet.

I don't know about "way" better, but I think he could be better.

Aikman was very good, but he wasn't the GOAT that some people make him out to be. It's my opinion, and I realize it's an unpopular one, that Troy would have been very average without Emmitt or Michael, or Novacek for that matter.

You can't take away what he did, but you can debate what he would have done under other circumstances.

Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin made Troy Aikman, not the other way around.

I just don't buy it. He was very good, but not even in the top 20 of all time IMO.

But TJ, Rudi and Chad don't make Carson?

How does that work?

I didn't say that.

I just believe that physically Carson has potential to be better. Never said he was even close yet.

True. Both are California guys, and he has apparently been consulted by Aikman on occasion. Aikman pointed this out when we played the Bengals last year. He has given Palmer some one on one lessons and consulting.

Some (not me) would argue that Aikman has a man crush on Carson. :laugh2:

Emmitt >>> Rudi

Irvin >>> Johnson
You know what's kind of funny?

I've never heard a player or coach define a player's greatness solely on his teammates. Emmitt and Irvin don't feel they made Troy Aikman what he is.

Just food for thought.
