Does coaching really matter?

Of course it does and the draft is one of the main reasons why. Take you back to the Taco vs Watt pick. Jason Garrett and Rod Marineli are coaches who run set schemes and do NOT adapt or tweak their schemes to incorporate players. Players such as Watt was a tweener and with JG and Roddle and his poor evaluation and not being able to incorporate players into his scheme or adapt/tweak the scheme is why we lost out on TJ Watt.
Mike McCarthy obviously has more and wants more flexablilty in his defense hence the reason we wouldve take Klavon Chassion if Lamb wasnt there. Bill Belichek never passed up a good-great football player because of his scheme. 100% guarantee if we had McCarthy back in 2017 Watt would be a Cowboy, book it. I know I should be over it by now but Im not, one of the most disappointing drafts at the time and still now because it really hurt this team to not have a 10 sack a year BALLER and instead have to keep bandaging that position. Sooooooooooooo Happy that the cancers of JG and Roddle are finally gone.

"We do what we do"

Hahahaha. You guys have Garrett and Marinelli on the brain. C'mon. Honestly, who cares at this point? Let it go.

yep we’re trying but it’s still too fresh on our minds and emotions....they ruined and wasted at least two potential rings and numerous players and draft picks. And also killed my father....

(okay I made that last one up, but the rest are true!)

Sure.

A lot of people believe if you can"t quantify sometbing..

It doesn't exist.

I have been fortunate enough to know luck always is a factor in anything.

Took 2 years in college for my pre-med degree of statistics and probability for lab experiments.

A small percentage always has to be allowed in research. It's usually listed as 'Other' in the outcome list.

It's the unexplainable outside the norm outcomes.

Luck.

So I read with interest how people Google stuff and take it as gospel becuz it says so on their computer.

What a laugh.

Your explanation of statistics here would indicate that it has been a long time since you have looked at or been able to interpet statistics.

Give it a rest.

I agree Watt was the better pick. But would he have been able to play DE? He's never played it, and as we saw there isa bigg difference between DE and OLB in a 3-4. Ware couldnt even make the transistion. As it is Pitt plays Watt very wide even in a 3-4. WHY? To get him more room to get past the T. All you gotta do is look at them skinny legs and you have to question if he has the strength to be able to play DE in a 4-3. Ware didnt have skinny legs and he was avg as a DE with Dallas.
