Does Dak wait until the WR makes a cut to throw?

He has ALWAYS been a see it, then throw it QB

Not 100% of the time, and LESS than his early years, but still more often than some others

It makes the WRs appear less open in those bogus “tight-windows” stats want to say

Although it may not maximize the potential of the combined route trees, it does lead to a higher completion % on paper

Cool. If this is the style that works...I am ALL for it.

I think as dak gets more comfortable with these receivers...we stay healthy...have an awesome run game like Tony gave us....we'll see some more intricate timing.

Has been one of his major flaws dating back to college. If he ever puts that together he will make a huge stride in jumping to the next level. Not Allen or Mahomes level of course

It's just a fair honest assessment of OUR QB!. Can you do it? Or are we not allowed to "question" dak in any form or regard?

If that is the case...why isn;t it true for ANY of our players? Why should any player be questioned ...even sincerely.

The issue, as with most of these "discussions" is the soft headed notion that a thing needs to be black or white. In the eyes of some Dak can do no wrong and in others he do no right. It's asinine. The guy's one of the best in the game. That doesn't make him perfect or above reproach. When he plays like crap I will not hesitate to state he plays like crap. But I will not crap on him (or any player) when he plays lights out but the team around him fails.

My biggest criticism of Dak has nothing to do with his throwing of the ball. I think he throws it as well as he needs to already.. Yes he could be better, but I have seen a dozen QBs who didn't throw the ball as well as he does win it all. My criticism is simply that he does not run enough. If the receivers are not getting open or are dropping too many balls.. then the best thing he can do is take matters into his own hands.. or in this case.. legs. I know the Cowboys don't want him running a lot.. and after seeing that happened to our 2020 season when he missed 10 games I get that.. but the fact of the matter is that when the team is playing like crap the best way to fire them up is for their QB to take off a few times and keep the chains moving when the opposing defense thinks it has us stopped. The line feeds off it, the receivers feed off it, the running backs.. the defense.. Everybody!! Frustrate the hell out of the opposing defense, allow your own defense to rest and get yourself 3 more downs to work on getting your receivers our of any funk they might be in. He is a leader.. Lead damnit.. Sometimes you lead from the pocket.. Sometimes you lead with your legs.. Whatever the hell it takes.. lead.. so my team can win..

You can question him, just be logical about it. Dak isn’t perfect and he has his flaws but accuracy and anticipation isn’t one of them. Like someone mentioned earlier Daks biggest issues right now are he basically never runs anymore and he has a tendency to play hero ball when things aren’t going well and force passes in. But to act like his accuracy and anticipation are problems when almost every advanced stat and guys who legitimately study film and QB play say those aren’t his issues is so weird to me. No too much how ridiculous that argument is when his WR’s constantly throughout his career are ranked average to below average in average separation per route run, so somehow he’s putting up numbers but at the same time his WR’s don’t separate and he’s not accurate?? How does that even make sense. People just be talking

Dak played very well today. There's no doubt. TONY TOO!

But I noticed when tv coverage showed the QB and WR in the same frame, the WR was already out of his cut by a couple strides before Dak threw it.

So I don;t know how big a deal this really is. And I bet he certainly threw some passes earlier than the WR cut. Just saying what I saw on several passes....all (or mostly) completed.

So big deal? Not? Will it matter more against better teams?

Yeah I’ve said it for a while now. Dak has gotten better over the years and he still has good accuracy but he is not a timing thrower.. how many back shoulders do you see him throw?

Romo had much better anticipation and timing throws then Dak. It’s not necessarily a bad thing it’s just a different qb. Dak can make all the throws but if it’s tight coverage he isn’t going to throw a wr open. He’s still middle of the pack in that regard.

You will note in my original comment....I'm praising Dak (and Tony) for a great game. I am not questioning Dak as in a challenge or criticism. I'm ...literally...asking a question about it.

Not sure why people find it so offensive.
