garrett will be back even if we finish 9-7. which looks like very possible considering how bad this defense is playing.

Garrett-Top has punched his ticket for the Jerruh train for 2015 already. This fast start has secured his job, without question. I'm going to sound crazy because I'm NOT a Garrett fan, but I think he's earned another year by getting this team to at least 8 wins with this bad defense and succeeding after being publicly castrated in the offseason by Jerruh. Really, if that's not ice skating up hill, what is???

yes and no. if we crater the rest of the way Jerry will have to re-consider (in my opinion). it's not about having a great record in the first half of the year...

A rational owner truly interested in winning and tired of being consistently mediocre would reconsider.

However, we do not have that. We have an overly optimistic delusional imbecile who is quite comfortable with the status quo as long as the money keeps rolling in.

I know. He may pause for a second or two before doing what we all expect...

Yeah, I'd want Garrett back, because without Romo we would really see how much the Garrett effect will truly shine...

Wait a minute...

How did you like what Chip Kelly did with Mark Sanchez?

Love how it's back to blaming the defense again, as if as a whole, they haven't been doing their job...

The offense looked like a joke last night and couldn't get WRs open..

The defense was guilty of bad football. The offense did not respond like they have done all season to make up for it and protect them.

All in all, the offense is not perfect. But ultimately if the defense were not so overwhelmed, games can be won.

It is easy to lose sight of the big picture, but if you are looking directly at what causes a loss, the poor response to getting behind is not a fundamental flaw.

The lack of creativity is concerning and understandable. But overall it just goes back to the fact that this team cannot win if the offense has a poor game.

Our defense has been playing fine overall with all the lack of talent. This was one of the few games they blew, but the offense also lost the ball. And the Eagles score on multiple teams.

Our offense has talent and still can't get WRs open on a consistent basis. What did this team expect with Philly? A low scoring output to work against? We couldn't even score on the fumble by McCoy in the red zone.

We wouldn't lose anything in reality if Garrett was gone. It would give us a reason to scrap that playbook that can't get second WRs open continually.

If we miss the playoffs after starting 6-1, I don't see how even the biggest Garrett supporter could argue to keep him. How many times does his team have to tank the second half of a season for him to be kicked to the curb?

I don't know how anybody can sit there and just blame the defense.

The Beasley fumble, which BTW only generated a field goal, and the inability to score on a TO generated by Dallas defense in the red-zone is what put the game out of reach.

The struggles on offense were consistent with what goes back years. The Eagles were stacking the line with 8 man fronts and our WRs couldn't do jack.

Our passing designs are simply horrible. The playbook is Garrett's... If we don't abandon it, even with Garrett staying if he does, and Romo is gone, it's going to be awful.

This is such loser mentality I don't even know where to begin. If you are 6-1 and tank at the end for a 4th season in a row and zero playoff appearances, please explain why he deserves another year?

The frequency with which we fall well behind in the first half puts a lot of pressure on the offense. They can't come back every time...

What coach with a pair is going to take this job??? You know what to expect with Garrett-Top right now. What flunkie will Jerruh bestow among Cow fans next year if he fires this guy???

The 6-1 start is a miracle, when considering how ridiculously bad the defensive personnel is. Anyone who thinks otherwise has their blue tinted goggles on too tight. If this team fails to make the playoffs, which is certainly a possibility, it will be more so due to personnel. Coaching is tossup from week to week, I agree with you, but until the front office changes their makeup and the ultimate decision maker steps down this thing will never change.

Garrett-Top has worked with the head idiot for several years and knows how to roll with the punches. Winning 8 games In-spite of Jerruh grants him another year, IMO. Lightning in the bottle is the ONLY way this franchise will win regardless of the coaching staff. Personnel is the beginning and the end for this team and it's been this way for 20 years....

That is it right there. The team's success is predicated on the offense either playing keep away or being able to come from behind. That is not sustainable.

Nobody has a perfect team with talent at every position. Belichick made his money winning by fitting guys into his system. Kelly, likewise, is doing the same.

If Garrett needs to stock every position on the roster with talent to succeed, then we'll be waiting a long time

The teams that collect the best talent stay competitive over time. It's the most important thing an organization can do and--if you think you're doing it well--it shouldn't be taken lightly. Unless you're sure you have a better coach, you keep stockpiling.

There are examples of better coaches than JG out there. Just like there are better players at other positions at almost every position on other rosters. The only real questions are 'is our guy good enough to win it all with?' And 'is there anybody obviously better for this team available?'

And the first question only really matters if the answer to the second one is "yes."
