You forgot Rev. Al Sharpton in your list. :laugh2:
Is he an animal rights activist? I'm being serious, I honestly don't know.

Nah, I was making a joke! Didn't you see the smiley? :p: Anytime a witchhunt starts, Sharpton usually makes an obligatory appearance.

Maybe it's just me since I live in the NYC area and he is very prominent here.

Only on given subjects though. He does some good. He does some damage. Same as any activist. I just didn't know if animal rights was one of his pet subjects (pardon the pun) or not.

There was a photo of him that went around the web some time back of him on his girlfriend's personal web page with a blunt in his hand.

Then there was the whole Ron Mexico ordeal.

Last year the water bottle incident in Miami where it had a hidden compartment and they believed it had weed in it.

Now and illegal dog fighting ring is tied to his property and there is an ongoing FBI investigation to find out if he is involved in it or not.

Same as Chris henry and Pacman, too many questionable associations may end up biting him right in the butt.

The only thing I can see him getting in trouble for is if he is charged in the dog fighting thing. As it stands right now he just owns the property and there is no other connection. Maybe there is, but right now, people are just hoping for the worst.

I don't think Goddell will go back and suspend him for the other things. If he does he will have to go back and review what EVERY NFL players has ever done that brought bad attention to the league.

Sacase, you know as well as I do the kind of pressure an activist group can bring.

If the FBI does discover he was part of the illegal dog fighting then PETA, the Humane Society, and other animal activists are going to go hard at the NFL to do something.

My gosh man some of the dogs they found were not only starving, but had missing body parts from fighting. If pictures of those animals hit anywhere and he's linked to it, there will be unreal pressure.

At that point Goodell, who has already told Vick to turn over a new leaf, may have no choice.

Oh yeah I completly agree with you that if he is linked to having knowledge what is going on he will get suspended no doubt.

I was just sayin the other stuff you listed won't be looked at.

This is really a sad situation to me. Not only because of the dogs but for the future of the Falcons and possibly even Vick. IMO, this is a make or break year for Vick. If he is suspended for say 4 games, that's going to impact him greatly IMO.

I never liked the fact that Atlanta fired Reeves like they did. Said he was old and didn't have an understanding of modern players any longer. Seems to me that he did understand. You can say that Vick had his best year under Reeves. Reeves was strict on Vick and I think that this type of handling is probably what Vick needed. Had he been subjected to that sort of discipline, Vick might very well be a much better player right now. It's a shame. Vick has more natural ability for the position then almost anybody I can think of. Bummer for Reeves too. Cost him his job.

Vick-owned property already under contract

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com news services

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has moved to sell the Virginia home where officials said they found evidence of a dog-fighting ring, The Daily Press of Newport News reported.
John Brooks, an agent with Long & Foster, told the newspaper that the two-story brick house was put up for sale on Wednesday and placed under contract the same day. Vick was asking $350,000 for the property -- less than half its assessed value of $747,000. Brooks would not reveal the sale price.

A cousin of Vick has lived at the house, the newspaper reported.

The animals were found at a home owned by Vick in Smithfield, though he said previously that he rarely went to the house and didn't know that a large kennel on the property could be involved in a criminal activity.

But Sports Illustrated reported Thursday on its Web site that two friends of Vick are convinced he is aware of and has been involved in illegal dog fighting at the house, despite Vick's denials.

"He knows what's going on in that house in Virginia," one unnamed source told SI.com. "There's not a doubt in my mind he's involved with it."

At Falcons minicamp on Friday, Vick declined to discuss the sale of the house or even respond to the chance to proclaim his innocence in the dog-fighting allegations, as he did shortly after the property was raided by investigators some two weeks ago.

"Like I said, I won't talk about the situation right now," he said. "When the investigation is over, then I'll be more than glad to answer any questions that you have for me."
Commissioner Roger Goodell, who has vowed to crack down on misbehaving players, already met with Vick and could impose a suspension if it's shown that he knew about dozens of mistreated dogs that allegedly were used for fighting.

An obvious attempt to cover this up. Although, if there is an actual investigation going on, the Police should be able to put a hold on this.

just amazing that Vick still has people supporting him. Almost as amazing as those still trying to find excuses for Pacman.

NFL surviving isn't what I am talking about, how many millions of dollars has vick made for the league? Is the trouble he is in worth losing those millions? From a strictly business standpoint it would be difficult to justify losing the revenue.

So just because he makes the NFL money the league should turn its head if he does something illegal? What kind of message is that sending kids? That is what is so wrong in this country today. Not enough people are taking responsibility for thier actions. Its either someone elses fault or they have enough money to get themselves out of it. :bang2:

Of all the problem players in this league, imho, Vick is the one that's first REALLY crossed the line with this latest development. He should not only be suspended for a few games, he should be erased from the league, maybe even all of America for those crimes. Bull**** he didn't know about it. This is sick and trumps everything anyone in this league has ever done. One of those instances where a person truly is guilty until he can prove himself innocent, not the other way around like it is in the free world. And I'm so sick of people trying to justify it, saying he "didn't know this was happening", or that there's no way of knowing if he knew or not. A man has to take care of what's his and ultimately take responsibility for all of it, there are no exceptions due to "ignorance". I literally can't wait for the animal activists to really start stalking and terrorizing him like his kin did to those poor helpless dogs. Before they're done, if there's any grace, he'll be forced into retirement just to hide from it. I've really never been so disgusted by a NFL player before in my life, and most stuff I just take with a grain of salt and forget, but this is pretty much unforgettable if you ask me. The leageu will be proven to have some SERIOUS issues if they don't attack this with all the due dilliagence it deserves. If he was on my team, I don't know what the hell I would do!

Atleast pacman is just some stupid punk. Vick has crossed the line of humane. I heard a dog near here not to long ago being abused, and it was literally the most chilling thing one could ever hear. You could hear it's yelps for miles. My own dog ran inside and started shaking in a hallway. Multiply that by 30. It really takes a special sort of "messed up" to be a millionaire and still feel the need to take it out on helpless animals. To make matters worse, this wasn't just cruelty, these losers were finding entertainment value from it and probably thinking they were the coolest damn things around while doing it. Laughing, drinking, getting high, taking bets- seriously someone tell me that more than likely wasn't exactly what was happening.
