Does Mingo mean we don't have to draft a WR high?

He can't be the end all be all, we can't be placing our stock in this guy for a position of need. It's a need because we need play makers, surely not up there with OL DL RB etc!!!! How does he affect our draft. I'm guessing if he plays well it might, even if he doesn't you know how hopeful Jerry is! Please give your thoughts
Mingo is a major Bust Coog, sorry to break this to you.
What you are now witnessing is a total meltdown by this franchise, this is really hard for me even trying to rationalize this desperation move at this point.
What a bunch of fools, just unreal.

We likely werent going to anyways. Not a great draft for it. In their mind, I think Mingo is them buying low on a guy they were high on a year and a half ago
The contract is also good for them.

He is a complementary piece. That's what spending a 4th on a WR gets you. There were 3 WR's taken in the 4th round last April. Do you think if
Troy Franklin, Javon Walker or Devontez Walker are in the mix for their teams WR2 that they are in trouble?
They’re rookies that were just drafted. Doesn’t appear any of them are in the mix for #2 WR. However, with the Cowboys they probably would be. The Panthers unloaded Mingo who regressed from his rookie year. They used a 2nd round pick on him and dumped him for a 4th just one year later. If they thought he was any good they would have kept him. They traded away an excellent receiver in DJ Moore so they could draft Bryce Young so no way would they have parted with Mingo had they thought he had potential. The only positive review I’ve heard about Mingo from those who’ve seen him play is his size. Everything else has been negative.

They can draft any position. They need to hit on their 1st three picks. One of the picks needs to be a running back. That should fit one way or another. They could possibly draft Jeanty in the 1st or one of the other backs in the 2nd or 3rd. They could also draft one of the dtackles in the 1st or another position if they see somebody they want. They could also trade back and get an additional pick.

The Mingo deal could actually work out well. We will have to see how good he becomes this season and next.
Read your first line and I stopped, remember we don't draft for need

Putting your faith in a fellow who couldn't even start for a 2 and 9 team might be more then optimistic. I believe he has caught 12 passes this year. He tested well at the combine and looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane.

PS. I guess we hope he can be the number 2 that replaces Cooks long term.
Go look at his highlights pro and college.

(sarcasm) you don't know what he can be, Jerry is telling us by doing this that he actually has a shot, sometimes a scenery change is helpful!! He may be the next Irvin!!!! I hear you, it was a panic move that was useless

Are the Panthers known for good moves?

Jerry traded the 4th round pick for a WR4, so it shouldn't effect the drafting of a WR at all.

Come on man you hate me enough to think a little!!! A guy that has what 12 catches in how many games?? Maybe a scenery change is helpful, maybe he just isn't good?????
He had about 45 catches last year with a terrible qb.

They’ve made some bad moves but don’t see this as a bad move. They got a 4th round pick for a receiver who’s regressed and has done virtually nothing this season. Everyone I’ve listened to that covers the Cowboys hasn’t had anything good to say about Mingo, except for his size.

He has never played with a good qb in the pros or college. Do yourself a favor and watch his college highlights at Mississippi.

no thanks, don't have the patience to sit there and watch it, if it's draft prospect maybe, but I can only handle a little of that

I don't believe this trade will have any impact on the draft. It wont stop jerry from drafting a unknown d2 player out of no where thinking he's got a steal.

How is a 4th rounder “ low “ when the Steelers got Mike Williams and for a better price then Jerry paid . Like the Lance trade I don’t think 4th round is “ cheap “ . Schultz & Pollard were 4th rounders .
Really, how is it a better price when you get Mingo on the rookie deal for 2 additional years and the high 7th rounder? With the 10 picks they have they very well could move back into the 4th or even into the 3rd.
