Does Murray look slower this season?

He has been caught from behind several times this season on long runs.

When he first came up with the Boys he seemed faster.

I remember his 91 yard TD run against the Rams.

Maybe he is playing at a heavier weight this year to help absorb the punishment he is getting with the high

number of carries he is getting per game ?

I am thinking bigger means slower ?

Don't know about his speed but he's a good down hill runner. He's not a patient runner and definitely slow turning the corners but get him running straight and he punishes anyone in his way.

He looks slower at times. That is why it is so confusing to me when they continue to run him over and over without any rest. How quick did Randle look on that touchdown run?

I think Murray needs more breaks throughout the game. We have a great line. The other backs are good for some yards too. Randle has done very well this year in his limited snaps. He is averaging 7 yards a pop.

In my opinion, they are giving the ball to Murray too much. I still think they should run like they are, but spell him a little bit. He will be fresher longer, and may break some more towards the end of the game if he is not so tired. Our line is good enough that randle can be effective as well in order to keep murray fresh.

What do you guys think?

He looks slower and at times kinda gimpy but the power is definitely there. Randle looks faster and more elusive at times, kinda wish he would get 10-15 reps per. Having said all that Murray is the new Beast Mode, Lynch is junk now...

he seems good at getting 5-10 yards when others might not, but sometimes should have more and doesn't get it.

Murray is going for 2k, Randell would be going for 900 maybeeee if he were full time.

I don't think so. He's never had break away speed or that extra gear. Most RBs don't really. Even Felix jones in his heyday was still considerably slower than Terrell Owens. Quickness, burst and power are the game for these guys... Unless you're a special back ala AP.

This has been talked about before. From my observation he's been getting bigger and with the added size and power he has gotten slower. You can go back to his early days at Oklahoma and he was a totally different type of runner. Wiry and fast. His early years here he could still run away from people like he did against the rams. But now he is easily caught from behind. Injuries could also play the part but nothing has ever been said. Someone else has speculated that like Miles that he doesn't open it up because of hamstring issues. But I've never seen that reported by the media.

I agree. Dunbar and Randle are underused.

Randle and Dunbar Match up better against that philly defense imo.

To answer your question. Murray has never looked fast. He looks like he doesn't even pick up his knees. But some how he makes plays time and time again. Keep it coming I don't care how it looks.

He is just sitting back and waiting for the holes to open more. That makes him appear slower but I bet he hasn't lost any speed in the 40. What I do notice is that he falls forward to gain those extra yards than in years past.

i love demarco in several ways...his toughness...his stamina...tremendous stamina...picks up blitzes..great receiver.

the way he stiff arms people to death.

i don't like the way he does not get through the damn hole quick enough to turn a 7 yard gain into a 50 yard td run.

jamaal charles would have already set the alltime season rushing record behind this line.

he simply does not get to the hole quick enough.

He's been caught from behind a number of times since his rookie year. I remember a year or two ago, he had a HUGE run against the Giants and kind of just ran out of bounds.

we need to bring up ryan to spell murray.

even randle looks like the second coming of barry sanders behind this line.
