Does Murray look slower this season?

i don't like the way he does not get through the damn hole quick enough to turn a 7 yard gain into a 50 yard td run.

Murray was never a burner but I've noticed this same thing. In fact a couple of times last week I was yelling at him to move because you could see the open yardage ahead.

I'd like to see a little more Randle later in the games. DM punishes defenses, Randle can take it to the house on a worn out defense.

He's slower because he's getting a ton of carries coupled with his fairly phyiscal style. It takes a toll on your body after a while.

Don't know about his speed but he's a good down hill runner. He's not a patient runner and definitely slow turning the corners but get him running straight and he punishes anyone in his way.

Not patient??? He's arguably the most patient back in the league in how he waits for blocks to develop.

slower? did people complain about Emmit being a non-speed guy? geez, not worried about mr murray, although I wouldn't mind him getting less than 40 touches in a game to help with his effectiveness over the long-haul

He looks slow yes, but he's also incredibly smart with picking up yards so it's hard to complain too much about it.

Murray is going for 2k, Randell would be going for 900 maybeeee if he were full time.

Maybe but I wasn't advocating for Randle to go full time but he needs more reps. I believe our attack would be much more effective with a change of pace...

He's not out running a ton of people but he's still pretty quick, will juke you out of your shorts, then run over you. He's someone you don't mind seeing in the 1st and 2nd, but you want no part of him in the third and fourth when he's pounded you to death. Speed can get you the home run, but the tough yards, takes a strong durable back. And taking hit after hit all game long, let's see how quick you are in the 3rd and 4th.

Randle did look quick on that run. Murray touched the ball 41 times to Randles 1. Enough said!

He has been caught from behind several times this season on long runs.

When he first came up with the Boys he seemed faster.

I remember his 91 yard TD run against the Rams.

Maybe he is playing at a heavier weight this year to help absorb the punishment he is getting with the high

number of carries he is getting per game ?

I am thinking bigger means slower ?

I just haven't seen the burst that I have seen from him. He's never been extremely fast. Last year in the pro bowl he scored the game winner on a catch and run, he showed a really nice burst heading up the sideline. Haven't seen it since. But he's grinding out yards.

question is would you take murray or ap next year?

Murray. No question.

Adrian Peterson is special, sure. But with this OL he's an excessive luxury.

Like, I don't think anyone here would retroactively take Barry sanders over Emmitt on those 90s teams. Emmitt got the job done just fine despite being clearly less talented.

After watching emmitt smiths career in Dallas I'm not concerned about Murray's top end speed. Durability has always been his issue. So far, so good this yr. maybe bulking up a bit has helped

It's a double edged sword, you can have a Dunbar who might break a few for six,or you can have a Murray who is fast enough...but also will get you 3.5 on a 3rd and 3 and keep the drive alive. So I'll take the latter. That said, with this OL, no need to pay Murray big money.
