For the future I believe neither guys should be the starter for the Cowboys.
Heaven help you if Rush jerseys start to sell.

Jerry will look at those numbers and say to himself "See, you don't need to waste a high draft pick to get a Superstart QB."

And then Rush will get signed long-term to be our starting QB for the next 6-10 years.

Yes, but some arent smart enough to know what they are.
Oh I forgot, it was the o line's, Moore's and the ref's fault all along.

Man, you guys are hilarious and make it really hard to stay moderate. Dak simply sucked throughout most of the second half of the season, the lonely play off game and against the Bucs. Taking apart a depleted New Orleans team or the third stringers from Philadelphia was just lipstick on that pig.

Yet I still think he should start whenever he's healthy again, because he's the best QB we have. I'd love to see him find that rhythm again he had in those first games of 2021.

For this season?

Rush seems to be the better option because he plays within his limits, doesn't try to do too much, and plays to his abilities instead of trying to be something he's not, but I don't think Rush or Dak leads us anywhere in the post season.

For the future I believe neither guys should be the starter for the Cowboys.
Agree.
I don't think there's too much difference as Phil Simms alluded to before the Bengals game. It's pretty much a wash between the two in terms of the team actually winning games and not window dressed individual stats.

It's great the team is still winning games, but anyone in their right mind would want Prescott at QB if they had the choice. It's not debatable, Dak is the better QB. If Prescott were putting up the same numbers the haters (for whatever reason) would be in a frenzy.

To be honest I think you see the same results just two very different ways of getting there. Rush is the bus driver who will keep you in games, take advantage of a great defense, and rarely win you a game.
Rush has 3 winning drives in 4 starts. Think before you type folks

Better question. Can either lead this team to the Super Bowl. I'm going to say no unfortunately.

Well, rush is the next Tom Brady so I think we should go with him. And he sees the field better, is more accurate, doesnt panic in the pocket like Dak, is more confident, goes through his progressions better and doenst audible out of every run play every time.

Plus Dak is just an average bus driver that really doesnt know how to manage the game while Rush is a clutch gunslinger.

I say we trade Dak and go with Rush. Maybe we can get a 5th rounder for Dak.
my sarcasm meter is twitching and btw we wont have a vote.Dak will start in week 7

And he has done so in games with dominant defensive performances that quite honestly shouldn't have required late game winning drives. Love me some Cooper Rush, but throwing for 220 per game is driving the bus. Hes driving the bus damn well, but let's not pretend he is looking like a prime Peyton Manning out there.

Too many politics to be a fair question. However, purely football-wise the QB that runs the offense the best by: getting "all" the playmaker involved distributing the ball around like a point guard to his shooters, the guy who makes the least mistakes, and the guy the team believes in and rallies behind.

Cooper Rush has been all those things, and it's time to see what Dak can do. Hopefully, Dak can bus drive this offense at a higher level than Rush...the QB doesn't have to be a superstar.

Phil Simms probably sees a lot of himself in Cooper Rush

Hopefully everyone is excited and thrilled with the outstanding job Rush has done. It’s definitely well above most expectations . Our season is still in full force as a result. He’s performed well within the game plan making key plays and throws. He’s no doubt solidified warranting a contract. We finally have a backup QB who can come and win some games for us.

This thread isn’t intended to be about who is our best choice for this week . The fact Rush is playing well hopefully enables the powers that be the luxury of holding Prescott out longer if needing to fully recover.

This discussion should entail who is our best choice for the duration of the season. I’ve seen some who have suggested we keep Rush in and therefore bench Prescott . I can’t imagine this thought reflects the majority of Cowboy fans. I’d like to hear the arguments .
See, I don't know what to expect from Dak.
First half of last season Dak ?
Last half of the last season Dak?
49er and Tampa Bay Dak?
Rush is steady, you know what you are gonna get from him.

Rush did not have a great game this week like I thought he did last week. He did not have the quick reads or get rid of the ball quickly like the past two weeks. He made some good plays and was fortunate to get the picks called back. I think if they don't hold Brown on the one, he probably throws it to him so I would give him the benefit of the doubt on one, but the off the back foot, deep over the middle, was just a poor decision you can't make. Nice read and pass to Ceedee for the TD and nice move out of the pocket for the TD to Gallup but otherwise not that impressive. I like how he did challenge them deep though.

Unfortunately I think some fans need a little coming back down to earth with Rush. LA and Phil could be just what the Dr ordered.

If he hadn't been doing that in the off-season or previous seasons, what makes you think he'll start now? He's relied on his natural athletic ability and when that started to betray him due to injury he's looked a lot more down to earth and lost.

Can he do better? Certainly. Will he? That's up in the air.

maybe because seeing Rush come out and make enough of a case that a backup qb has enough ability to get people talking about him losing his job has scared the ever loving crap out of him?

At least thats what i hope!
