"What do OTA mean?"

The biggest thing here is the players give valid reasons for not being there prior to not showing up. It's not as if they wake up and say, hey I don't feel like going to OTA's. People say they want to see dedication. so I have to ask do you show the same dedication to your job that you ask the players to?

I have gone beyond what the county has asked of me many times. I have been here when we had a major Hurricane bearing down on us, they did not force me to come I came because I knew they would need the help. As I mentioned above I can understand a guy missing a practice because of some un-foreseen event but for the most part if the team is holding a workout then I expect them to make the effort to be there. If you think that is asking too much from a player then we clearly disagree.

I can't speak for Roy Williams -- don't know a thing about the guy.

T.O., well, he is a weird sort. Very weird, but talented, but can you hang onto the ball already??? I heard Moss does not have this problem - whew.

As far as Glenn, yes I have knowledge and thoughts. When he came in as a rookie, I still can see him in my thoughts. Float like a butterfly, but man he was moving. His rookie season, he was something I had never seen before. Amazing. But then Parcells left the Pats and he became someone else. He had a very difficult childhood. Easy to say forget it, it is not so easy. Parcells was like a father figure to him. He started having problems -- drugs, injuries, other issues. He wanted out, and the Pats wanted to get rid of him. Off to Green Bay, no luck there either.

When Glenn was reunited with Parcells, well, in spite of his getting on in age, he became the guy I remember. I saw maybe 3-4 of your games last year and said -- darn I like Glenn. A potential never reached, but to me, the guy is still amazing.

So the question with Glenn is -- Parcells is gone. Will he become who he was without him. He is older, hopefully more mature, at the sunset of his career, but still lots of talent. Obviously I don't know the guy personally, but who are you now -- at your age -- without Parcells?

I don't have a clue. But it is kind of sad. That he carried the baggage -- not to say he didn't have a right with his childhood -- and did not reach his potential.

I have sat in the Pats stadium for 30 years, seen them come and go. Oh, and sat in the old Cotton Bowl and watched Bob Hayes (darn he was good). But Glenn in his rookie year was just -- don't know how to say it -- my mouth dropped open, he was amazing.

Glenn, hope you are over the pain. Please do lousy in our game -- Pats vs. Boys, but otherwise, may you shine.

Here is the Key thing, we don't know why some of these guys did not show up? What is Glenn doing? What is TO doing? What is Williams doing? Could it be they had prior engagements? Do you feel it is a fans right to know why they didn't come, especially if the coach was ok with whatever reason they gave?

People are acting like they are sitting on the couch and home eating cheetos and playing xbox.

They very well could be doing that. Prior engagements? This is their job, these things are scheduled months in advance.

EDIT: Yes, the fans have a right to know. We buy the tickets, buy the jerseys, etc. to a team that hasnt won a playoff game in a decade. Its time to start asking accountability from people who are supposed to be leaders of the team.

Moss is a story that bears watching this year. He has admitted to dogging it on the field at times. We'll see if he's matured or not. If he doesn't get the ball enough, well I'm glad Dallas does not have that problem...

As I said I understand when something comes up. I understand that Spears lost a good friend and was attending the funeral. I know things happen but guys like J. Jones has missed most of these workouts because he wants to work out in Arz, as far as I'm concerned we can trade his butt to Arz and he can work out there all year long. Romo has been jetting around quite a bit but he finds the time to make it to these workouts, something that is suppose to be important and something that they are rewarded very well for and to expect guys to make an effort to be at these workouts in my mind that is not asking the hell of a lot.

Oh man, when does training camp start so we can stop this madness.

Not soon enough!!!!!!!! :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

i actually do worry a bit about Roy missing. Ware and Spears had personal matters to attend to. The other guys are all over 30 and its kind of funny that all the players over 30 missed. that just reeks of permission.

There have been peeps out of VR for years now bout Roy's work ethic and he certainly seemed to make a lot of bad reads last year. Its nothing to freak out about but it is disconcerting.

Take a Chill Pill, all those players are studs and workout warriors. None have been slackers in preparation and I'm guessing JJ is in the best shape he has ever been in. This team will play hard and be ready to compete this year. Now if we were talking training camp or the mini-camps I'd agree with you. Be a fan and relax for goodness sakes.:starspin

I'm with you on that, take a Chill Pill. Don't the Cowboys have 10 OTAs this year as a result of a new coach? and missing one week is not so bad.

I was watching the NFL Network today and they had past champions discussing what it means to them to play in the super bowl. Troy said it best in his blurb.. it was something to the extent of: "what people and the fans don't realize, is how important winning football games is to the players in the league."

I don't know if this holds as true today as it did in 1995... but let's give our guys the benefit of the doubt. I've never seen any of them really roll over with no effort even in our worst games. And yes this includes the Campo years.

I know what your point is, but why should we give our zero time play off winners the benefit of the doubt based on what a three time Super Bowl winner says?
