We're heralded as the best offensive line in football, and rightfully so. But with Leary gone and Free retiring -- do you feel confident we will remain the best line? Oakland had a great line last year. Collins, hopefully will be as good as Free at RT.

Thoughts?

Does anyone think we take a step back? We lose some continuity.

We still have our 3 all pro players.

I wouldn't take anyone over those guys at their position.

If Collins can make the jump to RT...I think we will be better. It would be easy to hide an average player if they're playing between Frederick and Tyron.

No. Collins upgrades the ROT so much and offsets any drop off from Leary to Cooper easily. Additionally the depth is better this year. The entire OL as a unit is championship worthy and I have no concerns what so ever in their ability. Especially since the human turnstile Doug Free is finally gone.

Easy 'fella...:)

No. Smith, Martin and Fred haven't even reaches peak age for lineman. They. Are. Still. Improving.

Couple that with quality competition for the other two spots and I couldn't be less worried.

I hope an answer at right tackle develops and Collins remains at left guard.

Free was terrible in 2016 and below average most other years.

They preferred La'el over Leary when they had both.

Green was really good in 2 starts at LT last season.

Cooper looks like a good player when healthy.

At worst it will be a sideways move and that requires whoever replaces Leary to be much worse than Free. Collins will be much better than Free. Free took a step back last year. He gave up a ton of pressure and has never gotten a lot of push in the run game.

The potential talent replacing those two is tremendous.

T. Smith (LT) , Cooper(G), Frederick (C), Martin (G), and Collins (RT)

This is an Oline lineup that will drive fear in just about every team that we will face.

Never been a fan of Free. Im actually one to say that Im glad he's gone. Im really excited to have Collins replacing Free.

IF LG doesn't get addressed outside of current roster I do think it takes a slight step back.

Net Effect for me: (scale -5 to +5). This assumes Smith, Frederick & Martin play at previous levels.

2016:
Leary LG +3
Free RT 0
Overall +3

2017:
Cleary LG -1
Collins RT +2
Overall +1

Just between you and me...I don't know a single Defensive Coordinator that now is licking his chops for just such an opponent.

Collins upgrades RT but there's nothing but slop to play the other G spot. It could be a push on last year's line but you're not thinking correctly. How much less is this group than if they kept Leary and moved Collins? Significantly.

That lost the offseason for me.

I expect the OL to be very good. I hated to lose Leary but I think Cowboys will be able to overcome that with the guys we have including FA pickup Jonathan Cooper former 1st rd pick. I think working alongside Frederick will be a big help to Cooper and the other prospect.
