i like to keep level headed. think about it, our team is 4-3, not exactly world beaters.
i've seen every panther game this year, they're not that good. if peppers isn't going off and smith isn't making miracle catches then they are very average. us even keel guys are just trying to keep some of you from jumping off a bridge if we come out and suck against the skins.

Yeah it is like watching lemmings going over the cliff. :laugh2: When we win the SB talk starts and when we lose the season is over.

We didn't take the lead until the 4th quarter. The Panthers made a lot of mistakes on special teams that ultimately lost the game for them . The Cowboys played well, but if the Panthers had made fewer mistakes the game would have remained close. The best thing was we didn't quit as a team and the Cowboys had shown some signs of quitting when adversity struck earlier this season.

It was an important win, but this team needs to develop some consistency now.

The 4th quarter Panther mistakes were FORCED by the Cowboys. Hurd strips and recovers the ball on a kick return. Result: touchdown drive. Defensive front puts pressure on Delhomme forcing a hurried throw to avoid a safety...RW is in position to cross in front a make the pick. Result: touchdown drive. Ellis seperates the ball from Delhomme, Cowboys recover.Result: touchdown drive.

People act like Carolina self-destructed! I believe the Defense had a little something to do with the Panther "mistakes".

LandryFan, you're the first person who has actually given the Dallas defense credit for what happened on Sunday Night. All the media and fans have talked about what if Carolina had done this, what if Carolina had done that. They didn't do this and that because the Cowboys didn't let them. And remember, Dallas made some mistakes of its own out there, but still prevailed. We beat a contending team on the road with a "rookie" QB. It was a big deal and we responded like it.

I would generally be worried about over confidence this week after a big win, but the fact that Washington dragged us up and down the field last year at their place I am hoping that makes up for any over confidence issues. I know, if it were me, I would want to go in there and make up for being thoroughly embarassed last year. Now, we win this week and I am worried about the attitude against the Cardinals.... See Bears game from a few Mondays ago.

I agree in the sense that I also do not believe we have beaten a good football team yet....but, I have my sights on the Colts

You dont conside the Panthers a good team?

BTW: I think we have a great chance against the Colts... they have the worst run defense. Gave up almost 200 yards rushing to Broncos in 2nd half alone.

We run... methodically drive down the field and eat up clock and keep the GREAT Manning off the field... because he IS dangerous during the year...

Pray for bad weather when the Colts come to town. Colin Cowheard is ripping Manning about his poor play in bad weather when comparing him to Brady specifically. It hasn't been only Denver that has run againt them. Travis Henry ran for about 180, and they were extremely fortunate to get out of NY alive against both the Giants and Jets. Anyway, back to the Commanders.......

I like seeing you guys get over confident. Makes it that much sweeter when the Skins win and I get to hear all the excuses.

Not all. I like our chances but I expect to get the best from the skins this Sunday. Your team is in a must win situation if they have any hope of turning their season around the skins are like a wounded animal you have to be careful.

I would have worried about this game had Washington not smoked us at their place last year. If that doesn't motivate our guys, nothing will. We owe them one, and I think Brunnell suffers for it.

Okay, I'll start off by saying that I was stoked by our win at Carolina. I was even happier about Romo's performance and by how the team appears to be gelling.

However, let's be realistic - Carolina hasn't been that good this year. They've had virtually no offense and their defense has merely been mediocre. Not to take anything away from this win, but again, we need to put it in perspective.

Also, yes, Romo had a great game. Yes, Washington has been downright sorry this year and the Cardinals have been even worse. However these are by no means guaranteed wins. We've seen Romo play well in one start. Will he be consistent for another two weeks on the road? Any division game is tough, playing it in Washington is even tougher, no matter how bad the Skins are from year to year. And the Cardinals are still a football team. There's a reason they go out and actually play the games. I mean, they did nearly beat the Bears this year...

I just think a little level-headedness would be very wise. I've seen the Cowboys disappoint me too many times over the past 10 years to get excited just yet. If we get to 6-3 and Romo plays well in both games will I be ready to get as excited as I'd like to be, but not yet, not after one game.

Romo was the missing ingredient in our offense, no doubt that it was mobility however he seems to take a while to get his wheels going. Our defense needs to continue to fill the void till Romo gets rolling and puts points on the board. I'm looking for a 2nd half blowout by the Cowboys:gent: :skins:

None of the confidence we as fans have will have any bearing whatsoever on the outcome of Sunday's game.

It always worries me when we are extremely confident because we are not a verteran team. We have veteran players but we have not become a veteran team together. The Pats are a veteran team, even if they plug in a youngster, they still look solid becuase the core of the team has gelled together long ago.

Again, it makes no difference if we are confident, we aren't playing.

It's been pointed out that we're developing a swagger not to be confused with overconfidence. BP will not let this team get full of themselves. IMO, there couldn't be a worse time for the skins to face us and if we had the statue back there, I'd be a little nervous. I think the team is rallying around Romo and believing they can get it done now. Meanwhile the skins are still plagued by a litany of issues including Moss questionable for Sunday. All the numbers and momentum are in our favor. Our young QB shouldn't be intimidated by their environment or the stage. Of course, the skins will throw everything at us and fight like crazy but if we can match their emotion in the first quarter, they're done.

"Does the overconfidence by 'Boys fans worry anyone else?"

What does the 'Boys fan overconfidence or fearfulness has anything to do with how the team play? We 'Boys fans can talk trash to the 'Skins fans all day and it will not have an ounce of effect on the teams' play.
Now, if the 'Boys are overconfidence then that another story.

It won't set our team up for a fall, but man does overconfidence affect these boards. Things are the craziest when people set themselves up for a huge fall and look through our schedule, picking out all of the "easy wins" of teams that "don't have a chance". Happened last season and I imagine that it'll happen again this year, at least once.

All I have to say is, I ain't going through the Cardiac Boys season again. I am watching every game knowing damn well we could lose.

Heck I'm not worried if WE are overconfident. I thought he meant our team! Of course it doesn't matter if we are happy, sad, confident, not. We aren't the ones that go out there and get punched in the mouth (not that some of us shouldn't :D ) when we are overconfident. I meant the team.
