Does the Randy G. suspension change us from signing Greg Hardy?

its really amazing to see this board turn on Hardy in the last month. Glad you all joined the rest of us!

No. No matter what happens with looney tunes Gregory, Hardy should under no circumstances be resigned. Let's move on.

Has any team had more games lost via suspension to starter - level players I the 15' - 16' seasons?

lol. Just as Gregory didn't act like a professional on his drug test.

I agree, but Gregory is cheap and under contract for 3 more seasons. However if he had 5 sacks or so this season and had some value, I'd deal him if I could.

I for one was hoping we resigned Hardy before the Gregory fiasco, so my position is still standing. We can't afford or should i say Romo can't afford for us to trim too much talent from our already mediocre defense and expect improvement. If we are not going to build on the assets we have stop kidding everyone especially Romo and commit to a complete rebuild.

I think he was gone regardless of whether or not Gregory decided to be a bonehead or not.

I definitely think this puts us in play for either Bosa or another pass rusher with the 4th overall pick now. It seems as if it's almost a foregone conclusion now.

I'm for resigning Hardy if he comes cheap. I think the worst is behind us.

Agreed. Some would actually rather have us do multiple restructures to free cap space and sign another DE big money and make it that much harder to keep our offensive line because Hardy was late to a couple meetings (ok we all know the ones wanting this are really still upset about signing a player who was accused of domestic violence and are still riding the hate train). That or they want Noah Spence who was kicked off his team for being a drug addict. Doesn't make sense replacing 2 knuckleheads with another one but oh well.

just like Von Miller when he failed his test and tried to conspire with the collector to replace his sample but got caught and got 6 games and then came back to be MVP of the Super Bowl

Two things. Plenty of people will say they knew it was bound to happen. Also what on earth has Hardy done to warrant people turning on him? (Mincey's "allegations" aside)

I'd try to get him back on a one year deal, nothing more. We need someone to fill in for Gregory while he's suspended and we need 3 good edge rushers. If Gregory can get his act together and proves to actually be a good NFL DE when he returns, then cut Hardy loose and roll with your two young stud DEs next year. If Gregory can't and doesn't, then find an edge rusher in next year's draft. The only real stud DEs in this draft both have a history of drug offenses. Spence got kicked out of school for his issues and Bosa had to force himself to live like a hermit after getting suspended for his. And these are the guys you want to replace Gregory with?

This team needs to rid itself of its losers rather than spending good money after bad. At some point good sense should take over. Is that asking too much?
