Welcome to modern day journalism, where the journalist are afraid to ask coaches/politicians/etc tough questions for fear of losing access. Where's Walter Cronkite when you need him?
I am no doctor but i have experience here since i have a bad back. If it is a trigger point injection which i doubt it won't last long i had this once and it did nothing. If it is cortizone or steroid shot it is suppossed to last 3 to 6 months ( depending what you do) and i believe you are only aloud to get so many of those in a one year period i think 3 someone correct me if i'm wrong. I have had close to 4 sets of these over 2 years 2 times they didn't last one month 1 time it lasted about 2 months 1 time they missed where it was suppossed to go and 2 weeks later i was back doing it again. I also ( forgot the procedure name ) had the nerves burnt by an injected chemical to block the pain it didn't work for me either. The danger is when they work you feel pretty good but are constantly doing more damage so when the shot wears off he will feel worse especially being in such a violent sport backs are tricky. hope this helps
My back issues were pretty bad so i may not have had one of those - Is that for a more minor injury ? good to know thoughYou can have an anti-inflammatory shot directly into the muscle. This works much more effectively than pain pills. The idea is that it will cause the muscle to relax. And help get rid of the muscle memory of being tightened up.
Well mine is pretty bad as well but they give that to you initially until they know something is really wrong or at least they did for me. PS no it didn't work because my issue wasn't muscular it was skeletalMy back issues were pretty bad so i may not have had one of those - Is that for a more minor injury ? good to know though
ahhhh sorry to hear that - i had a laminectomy/disectomy in 2013 didn't work so 11 days ago i had fusion surgery through the front and back -- in the process of recovering now --- back injuries suck been dealing with this since 2012 i hope yours is better or improving !Well mine is pretty bad as well but they give that to you initially until they know something is really wrong or at least they did for me. It's not and I've been turned down for surgery because, I'm told, there isn't a good enough chance that it will help. I'm scared of surgery (too many horror stories) so I'm on a permanent pain management program.ahhhh sorry to hear that - i had a laminectomy/disectomy in 2013 didn't work so 11 days ago i had fusion surgery through the front and back -- in the process of recovering now --- back injuries suck been dealing with this since 2012 i hope yours is better or improving !
Sorry to hear that -- Surprisingly i don't get nervous at all for surgery i just keep the mindset you go in get a IV move to a room say hello and thankyou to your OR staff, and next thing you know you are asleep. I do understand the fear about surgery though since it is a stressful event. It's not and I've been turned down for surgery because, I'm told, there isn't a good enough chance that it will help. I have arthritis in my C7 vertebra. Fortunately it doesn't require surgery. I have a home traction unit I use every night. The thought of surgery doesn't bother me, except when dealing with the spine...and maybe the eyes.Sorry to hear that -- Surprisingly i don't get nervous at all for surgery i just keep the mindset you go in get a IV move to a room say hello and thankyou to your OR staff, and next thing you know you are asleep. I totally understand the concern when it is the spine one slip up and you may never walk again. All my issues are at L5 S1 and are spreading upward. I researched my surgeon like crazy to make sure i was confident in who would be working on me, and in addition i had surgery at HSS ( Hospital for Special Surgery). I really felt i was in the best hands so that probably helped for me on the mental side of itI have arthritis in my C7 vertebra. Fortunately it doesn't require surgery. I'm sure you're in excellent hands, but I wish you the very best of luck anyway!I totally understand the concern when it is the spine one slip up and you may never walk again. Garrett said they expect Tapper back in practice this week. "In a few days" per his presser today.
Jason Garrett was asked specifically today if Charles Tapper would take part in team drills during practice and he answered, 'no, that's not anticipated.'
Towards the end he said "in a few days"
