Yes, I know this is nitpicking. And yes, he won the player of the week last week and is a great talent.

But it seems week after week, he is getting beat by everyone who lines up across of him. Granted, these are great players in Watt, Irvin, JJP but some of these aren't even close and it leaves Romo in a vulnerable spot. JJP was bullying him at times it seemed yesterday before he got hurt.

I saw some of this stuff in preseason as well.

Thoughts?

No I think he has played some outstanding ball, you don't win the battles 100% of the time when facing great players on the other side but Smith is winning a lot more battles then he is losing.

Happens to every left tackle, no matter the talent they have. Everyone gets beat. Offense or defense.

Win some lose some. He wins more battle than he loses.

Yes, it is nitpicking and No, not at all. Best young LT in the NFL. Everyone gets beat, but let's start with Romo holding the ball too long too often if we are going to be overly critical. Also, remember the guy had an MRI this week on his ankle and wasn't even certain to play.

I never believed he was the top tackle in the league. I'm not even sure he's top 3. That being said he's only 23 so I'm not worried one bit. He's still young and will continue to improve. He's not a finished product.

Not worried about him but he does need to pick his game up... I saw several backside run blocks that were just plain pathetic and the DE ended up making the tackle for loss.

Have to give credit to JPP too, hes the best DE vs the run this year.

exactly. there are some quality players on opposing teams and they will make plays. Overall Smith has outplayed them but of course these other guys will make plays they are too good not to

I am a little bit worried as well, especially about the sack to JPP and the almost-sack to Watts. You rarely saw LA or even Flo Adams gave up a sack so quickly. Perhaps he is not as big/wide as these two.
