Does winning against Seattle even matter?

Winning against Seattle still us a chance...hope however small that we can still get the division and a better chance of heading to the Super Bowl in the playoffs. The last thing we need if us losing our 5th seed because of tiebreaker rules with other teams looking for better seed or a seed at all. Granted the Eagles need to lose at least two games for the division to be ours but they're going up against 49ers this week and Loins soon so that increases the chances.

Or is it the losing? Because the way I figure it, Seattle is 6-5. If we win then they become 6-6 and then they are no longer a winning team. We won but its not a winning team so it doesn't matter.

OTOH, it they lose then Seattle is a winning 7-5 team and we cannot beat winning teams.

FWIW, I find the whole 'winning teams' argument to be asinine but I also figure that if people want to be wagged by ESPN then let them.

Nonetheless, the Cowboys narrative seems to have them in a no win situation from most fans perspective.
Looks like you got wagged by ESPN into creating this thread.

A win pretty much gives Dallas at least the 5 spot.

I doubt it. If there was another team that consistently was billed as SB contenders and then went out and consistently lost against teams with winning records or other playoff contenders you would hear the same thing. You can't be angry about what is being stated about the cowboys because everything being stated is factually true. The Cowboys are every year picked as a SB contender. They have had a team that posts a winning record and over the last few seasons beat up weaker teams. If we can agree to that then it is also fair to state that the Cowboys struggle against teams with winning records. This year they have played the 49-ers and Eagles and they lost both those games. Now here comes the Seahawks. I hope they win but their track record against these teams isn't that great, so they could very well lose that game and if that does happen - what will you say? Will you claim that the media is biased and hate the Cowboys? Winning is the only real antidote here and until they figure out how to consistently beat or even be competitive against the elite teams the narrative will continue.
2 losses isn't consistently.

So
You're happy with the status quo
Jerry has participation trophies and other merchandise available!
You have to be happy with how good the team is this year. If you aren't you can't be a fan of the Cowboys or good football.

We were 6-2 last year against winning teams

Don't let what haters say affect your thinking
That's really funny and the team this year is better than last year's team.

And of course us winning, having the NFL best point differential, top 5 offense/defense/special team, historical performances, etc matters.

They technically have a winning record, but to out Haters and even ALOT of our fanbase, the answer is No!

Very important to win. It's momentum to carry you through to the following weeks game at home against the Eagles.

Winning probably leads to a first round game against the nfc south winner. Losing could lead to a first round game against the lions or 49ers.

I'll take my chances with the winner of the south

BTW, last year we beat 5 teams with a winning record and the 49ners beat 3 teams with a winning record during the regular season.
Before playing them in the playoffs, no one was claiming we were a more legit contender than the 49ners because we won against more teams with a winning record.

No, only the games against the better teams matter. It doesn't really matter if you lose to the weaker teams, as long as you win the Big Games.
