Ha ha ha! That's awesome. My Beagle / Chihuahua mix snored like crazy. I would have to wake him up sometimes just so we could hear the TV.

Lol, one of the many reasons I love dogs. Enjoy him while you can!Me neither. Closest is Ancient Mummy who is a pit/pug, but he seems mostly pit.
He had a ton of personality too, but he's ancient mummy now so he slowed down.
Still goes cray cray at dinner time though so I know he still has his spark!
Most hunting dogs I've ever seen were runners. Give them a chance, and you won't see them for hours, if they're lucky enough to avoid the cars on the road. Also, they usually want constant attention for the first 5 years of their lives. I love all dogs, but some I just prefer to pet when I'm visiting someone else.If you can get them space to run or get exercise, consider the hunting breeds. Our Brittany was the best dog that ever lived. But, if you coop them up, they'll drive you crazy.
True, there are few bad dogs, mostly bad owners. When I hear my neighbor's dog barking for an hour, I don't blame the dog, I blame the neighbor. What would you do if someone tied you to a tree all day?If I were adding a dog to my family, I would not be as concerned about the breed as the connection. I would go to the shelter and wait for that connection to happen and that would be the dog or dogs.
I would also gather information about what certain breeds require such as space and exercise because having a dog that requires exercise and not addressing that makes them a handful and it is not their fault.
If you're looking for a more relaxed breed, Bulldogs are pretty chill. Labradoodles are pretty chill, might need a bit more exercise. Great Danes don't either, but at that point you might as well get a pet cow and then it'll mow your lawn for you.
I have a 4 year old doberman, so I know what you mean about going on 3 walks a day. This dude could play frisbee until he passed out if I would let him.
German Shepherds are the best breed, IMO, but if you don't like hair all over everything you've ever owned and every place you've ever been, maybe GSD isn't for you. You mentioned a Rhodesian Ridgeback. That's another great dog, and much less maintenance. Both breeds are intelligent, loyal, protective beyond belief, and fairly aloof, if you don't want a dog that demands constant attention. Border Collies and Australian Shepherds are great if you want a smaller dog.
The Roomba probably gets full by breakfast! LolYes. I have two of them, one guards the inside, one guards the outside, except when they're playing together, so not always indoors but they still leave hair all over the place. And that's also with a Roomba running the entire house daily!
I've had a couple GSD's running around the house for about 17 or 18 years. I'm sure I could still find some hair from the first pair which have been gone for about 3 years.Yes. I downloaded that one. Lol Friggin hilarious!I saw a meme a while back that said "My dog pooped the floor while I was at work and then Roomba decided to ruin my life".

I just recently discovered the Pet Power Brush attachment for a Shark vacuum. That thing is GOLD! Sucks the hair out of everything I've tested it on with ease.
In fact, I managed to get my wife's hackles up recently because I had the vacuum outside to clean my truck instead of using the shop vac like I usually do.
She really got fired up when I replied, "sorry Hon. I didn't think you used it." I should have thought that one through a bit more...
