Dolphins at Eagles Preseason Thread

And Goff had a worse one. What's your point?

Your irrational Wentz hate is comical.

Not irrational.

You said you would rather have Wentz, they both had pretty poor rookie seasons.

Wentz has done nothing to warrant so many Cowboy fans defending him. He was a good college player and he had a good September. Outside of the first four weeks of the season, he was terrible.

He may be a good QB but right now...nobody is basing that off of anything but his draft status and that he can throw a pretty ball(so don Weeden). I stated that he is overrated, you rushed to defend an Eagles QB on a Cowboys message board.

1st round - DE Derek Barnett vs. DE Taco Charlton
2nd round - CB Sidney Jones vs. CB Chidobe Awuzie
3rd round - CB Rasul Douglas vs. CB Jourdan Lewis
4th round - WR Mack Hollins vs. WR Ryan Switzer
6th round - S Nathan Gerry vs. S Xavier Woods

Amazing how similar their drafts were in terms of positions and rounds. You could even add a late 6th rounder on DT Qualls for the Eagles vs. our 7th rounder on DT Ivie.

My question. Heads up like this, player vs player. How many wins for the Cowboys? I say maybe 3, Awuzie, Lewis and Woods, though I'm giving them Awuzie simply because I don't know if Jones comes back to form after that injury. He's a better player at 100%.

That is a strangely eerie draft path both teams followed, and you rattled those names and draft rounds off like they were as well known to you like the contents in your garage,,, and I think that's
extraordinarily impressive ;)

So sick of his hype.

Wentz is not some can't miss prospect. The media gives him much more slack than Goff because there is an obvious east coast bias.

Dak and Wentz were both second round prospects prior to the draft process. Dak's stock slipped because of a DUI and he's not a great practice player....Wentz is a better practice player.
Reality will set in because the Eagles OL is terrible, their DL is going to have to bail them out all season.

I agree the real danger of the Eagles is the Defensive Line, it is as aggressive and talented as the Giants. Talent quickly erodes once you get past that line. Playing them is going to be physical. Wentz is getting better IMO, he is so far ahead of Jared Goff which must make the Rams sick to their stomach. The Eagles Oline is above average, that Miami dline is impressive. D Barnett is probably going to be a good player I know he was on our radar for the draft he certainly plays differently than Taco.

Oh I didn't realize there was rule against defending other teams' good players on a Cowboys message board. Thanks for the inside info.

And Goff had a worse rookie season and it's not even close.

Even Goff has made some strides this offseason and you can see it in his command of the offense. Fans of opposing teams are fickle (go figure) and will throw all rationality out the door when it comes to evaluating other teams' players. Wentz's rookie year was clearly not equal to Dak's but as far as rookie QB seasons it was solid and you can see some positive traits that could be developed.

I watched our game vs the Rams, I must of missed some of his strides. I do stand corrected if he is making progress.

To be clear, I wasn't throwing shade at you in my post. Goff played briefly vs. us (3/4, 34 yards) but I'm speaking to more of his last game. In terms of his confidence and just functioning as a NFL QB on the field he looks night/day to me from last season.

He did not transform our team. We had healthy competent QB play and so we were good again. It's like people forget what a lonely little 3rd round pick and washed up former 1st rounder did in this offense.

This Elliot suspension is going to leave a lot of egg on people's faces when we win games and run the ball very well.

Or not. Most people won't care either way as long as the number in the Win column keeps ticking up.

But please, continue your tired, exhaustive Zeke Elliott hatred. It's fun to watch how absolutely sad you are with it -- why don't you just root for the team? LET PEOPLE ENJOY THINGS.

Another question: should Brice Butler be the #2 WR? He's been out of his mind so far. Is Terence Williams even at camp? I've heard very little from him.

The #2 WR is and always has been Jason Witten. #3 is Beasley. Butler and Williams and the rest will split the rest of the targets.

He's going to be a pretty good QB in this league. Now you might not believe he'll be better than Dak and he might not be, but he's going to be a good enough QB that the Eagles won't be a dumpster fire for the next few years.

I'll put it another way. I'd much rather they have someone like Sam Bradford or Jared Goff or Brock Osweiler than Wentz.

Well, no ****. All of those guys you named have already proven to be piping hot garbage, whereas we're waiting to make sure we can't still use the "no weapons" excuse for Wentz.

It's so strange to see an apparent Cowboys fan defend an opponent's quarterback, let alone the ******* Eagles.
