Dolphins at Eagles Preseason Thread

To be clear, I wasn't throwing shade at you in my post. Goff played briefly vs. us (3/4, 34 yards) but I'm speaking to more of his last game. In terms of his confidence and just functioning as a NFL QB on the field he looks night/day to me from last season.
I honestly will have a difficult time with Goff after watching Hard Knocks last year, he seemed less than curious about things I thought should be important for his play. Maybe he has matured over the year, God knows the LA media will be merciless on him if he has another year like the last. Might be worse than NY or Dallas.

Well, no ****. All of those guys you named have already proven to be piping hot garbage, whereas we're waiting to make sure we can't still use the "no weapons" excuse for Wentz.

It's so strange to see an apparent Cowboys fan defend an opponent's quarterback, let alone the ******* Eagles.

Wait, it's strange for a Cowboys player to defend another player in the league? So you can't be a real Cowboys fan if you call other teams' players good?

There is a name for a person like you. An unabashed homer.

The Eagles are supposed to have one of the best OLs in the league.

That was PFF and of course, loud mouthed Lane Johnson, who said that stuff.

Their OL should be decent to good but they have some issues. For one, Jason Peters is old and while still affective, he's an injury risk. Also, their C is overrated. Kelce is a lighter, good on his feet C that can play if you get him space and on the move. But ask him to line up and maul a guy, he gets pushed around. Teams starting lining NTs and DTs right over him the last couple of years and he really struggled.

What's the big deal? It's his opinion, let him have it even if you disagree.

I have believed since last year that wentz has the "physical tools" to be a NFL Quarterback but I do not think it will materialize. I feel his "potential" or his "ceiling" is a lot lower than people make it out to be. Once again this is my opinion.

I am starting to have an uneasy feeling about Wentz and his recievers.

He's likely going to be a QB that does a lot of good things that also will make some bizarre mistakes. He's going to be Favre-ish (no, you ninnies who will freak out over this, I am not saying he will be as good as Favre) in the fact he is pretty good maneuvering around the pocket, can avoid a rush and make plays out of nothing. But with that there will come some real boneheaded throws at times.

His opinion was that "it's strange for a Cowboys fan to defend another team's QB".

That's a pretty dumb opinion.

Or not. Most people won't care either way as long as the number in the Win column keeps ticking up.

But please, continue your tired, exhaustive Zeke Elliott hatred. It's fun to watch how absolutely sad you are with it -- why don't you just root for the team? LET PEOPLE ENJOY THINGS.
I don't hate Zeke. He's a Cowboy. But when people make noise saying untrue football things I'll speak up whenever I feel motivated to.

Zeke didn't transform our team. Going from the worst qb situation in the league to Dak did so. That should be an unassailable truth for anyone who understands the game...

Agreed.

In other words, if you put Elliott in the backfield with Brandon Weeden or Moore, we aren't going 13-3. We probably don't even win 7 games. That's not to slight Elliott who is arguably one of the 3-5 best TBs in football in just one season of play but the notion that he "transformed" the team is a bit of an overreach.

This is insane.

Read stuff around the league about what execs said about zekes on the field play and how he impacted this team last season..

In fact, just google "Ezekiel Elliott MVP" and see what almost everybody had to say about our stud RB

Elliott + Weeden in 2016. How many games do we win?

 Weeden wasnt here though.

Even when Romo played in 2015 (without Murray and Zeke), this offense didnt look right at all. Look at the games that year like the Panthers game, when we couldnt run the ball, how terrible we looked, with Romo.

Im not trying to minimize Dak or Tony in any way, but Zeke was an MVP candidate for good reason. DCs had nightmares gameplanning how to stop Zeke.

Homers are utterly useless to me. They aren't fans of the game, but just fans of a particular uniform and team color scheme.

Of course he wasn't here. But it's to highlight how silly people are when they talk about how transformative Elliott was to the team's success. This team doesn't win 7 games last year with Moore or Weeden at QB.

Did Elliott have a hand in their success? Yes. Absolutely. But he wasn't that transformative that if you gave him a bad QB, this team still would have been good.

Who won offensive rookie of the year? Dak. Why not Elliott?

Dak, because he did what most if not all rookie qbs have never done...

But in reality, zeke made it a lot easier for him to accomplish what he did last year. You think Dak is as good last year, as a rookie, with Mcfadden as his RB all year?

Actually, I think Dak would have been pretty good last year with McFadden. Now not as good as he was but still pretty good. McFadden ran for 1100 yards on a team that had Weeden and other bums as QB. He would have been more effective if he had competent QB play in 2015.

The reality is Dak and Elliott needed each other. The notion that everything that went well for Dallas is directly tied to Elliott is just bizarre thinking.

If that's the case, then we are in deep trouble if he has to sit out 6 games. Do you believe this team will really struggle if he sits out 6 games?

Struggle? No, but we wont be near the high powered offensive team we can be without him. Plus, Dak isnt a rookie anymore and has worked on what he struggled with last year, so he will be much better.

:igglestrophy:

I am curious to see Wentz with his new weapons. No more excuses
Im not one that cares one way or other about Wentz--except hoping he stinks vs Dallas.:muttley:

But, he had the 3rd most passing yards in NFL history as a rookie.
I don't really think, ad a player only enteri g year 2, that he needs excuses.
