Didn't realize how bad domestic beer was till this weekend...I had been drinking Red Stripe, Dos Equis, and random Imported beers alot lately, then my buddy brought over a case of bud light in bottles when I was already trashed. I just drank the remnants of that case and I am completely disappointed....about the only domestics I like now are yueng ling and miller...oh well, the wife is coming back from GERMANY in about a week and she bringing back cases!!!!!:)

Capitalism destroyed the domestic beer!
Stretch it out with water and get more bottles out of a vat.

Don't know if that's true, but it sounds good. :)

I personally hate Coors. I don't get it at all. And Coors Light? People show up with it all the time and I don't see the point of paying that much for water.
Bud doesn't bother me, but I don't buy that either, so...

I love Amstel, and on occasion Guinness, which is heavy as a loaf of bread.
I've never even had Dos Equis, though I constantly hear about it.

that was my biggest dissapointment when i holidayed in texas. whenever i travel i always like to try the local beers. was very dissapointed in the beers on offer when i was over. there were a couple that saved it and meant i wasn't constantly having to drink imported beer. those two were sam adams, which didn't really count because i can get that over here anyway, and shinerbock which was a fantastic beer.
regarding two of the beers mentioned in this thread guinness is a meal in itself and the old saying about it tasting nicer in ireland is simply not true, best pint i ever had was here in glasgow. dos equis is lovely, particularly if the bar rim the glass with salt first.

After reading some of the threads where lane was pimping Dos I gave it a shot and like it.

You want a beer to try? Hoegaarden (Who-Gar-Den). That isn't bad.

Oh, there's plenty of good domestic beer, most of it is just micro-brew. There are a few large breweries that put out a quality drink though; places like New Belgium in CO and Stone in CA have some tasty beers. In fact, I'd put some of the American micro-brews right up with the best beers from any other country. The major domestics are pretty bad unless your camping or spending a day at the beach though.

That said, college left a soft spot in my heart (or possibly my liver?) for cold, cheap beer on a hot summer day.

I guess it's just the redneck in me but the only beer I ever enjoyed drinking was Bud Light. I tried a few others and didn't care for them. That being said I haven't drank one in well over ten years. They gave me headaches, not hangovers, the next morning after drinking only one beer. So I stopped all together.

Ever since we got Yuengling in Georgia finally, EVERYONE in atlanta has been drinking it non-stop. Everywhere i go people are drinking it.

We just got Fat Tire here two weeks ago. Man, that's a good beer.

The question is, do you have Shiner Bock? We don't get it here in the North East. :bang2: We do however get Negra Modello! :)

I live in Oklahoma and our beer is so weak that you cant get a good beer at the convenient store.

You have to go to the L store.

I like Fosters.

2.5% right? Texas is 5. beer. Of course, the reason OK's beer was so weak is because you could buy it 24/7. I heard they were trying to change that. Did they?
