Just don’t.

They did the same to Romo. Romo for all his warts was a steady face for 10 years as our starter. Dak, despite his flaws, is more or less the same. I do not believe he’s as bad as the media is making him out to be and is one of the better qbs in the league. This perception that has gathered steam this off-season that he’s garbage is all part of the circus Jones has created. When it’s all said and done, we will look back at Dak, like we already do with Romo, and say, “you know he was not that bad and he was underrated”

Form your perception, form your beliefs and don’t buy into the suck we are seeing full display in these sports networks
I won't.

They won't convince me he doesn't suck. No worries.

Dak has been propped up his whole professional career, when he has accomplished jack squat. This guy walked into the best OL and RG in the league, when Zeke was averaging over 5 YPC on first down and was running a very basic, play-action conservative offense for years. He still can't throw consistently against a zone and ever since he was given an aggressive offense via Moore, there hasn't been a 2 game stretch where he hasn't committed either an INT or TO.

The standard for Cowboys QBs is Staubach and Aikman. Every QB that’s followed them has been judged on their playoff record and their ability to lead the team to a championship. The media has a lot more respect for Dak than the Cowboys fan base, who won’t even acknowledge he’s a good QB.

100% Roger/Troy should be the measuring stick BUT it should also be mentioned that they had the best teams Cowboy's QB's have ever had and its really not even close. There were literally no holes in those teams, they only lost when they faced other teams with no holes and the games where ususally all out street fights.

No doubt they had some great teams, but the Cowboys have had some really good teams since then that they didn’t get nearly as much out of as they should have. They’ve had two number one seeded teams go one and done at home. No excuse for that and not being able to win a divisional round game in 27 years. Our QB play has played a part in some of those failures.

We can't afford to pay an average QB $55 million dollars/year.

for sure but I never felt like those teams were far and away better than the pack like i did with Troy and Rogers teams... those teams had holes that anyone could see, and there is no way to put down how Roger and Troy played in the playoffs its night and day compared to Romo and Dak for sure.

The biggest difference between the great teams Staubach and Aikman had were they had some great defenses. The real good teams we’ve had under Romo and Dak weren’t near as good defensively as those great defenses in the 70s and 90s. Our defense played a big part in losing to the Giants in 07 and the Packers in 2014 and 2016.

I read through this thread and wonder if all those who claim they see with their eyes truly understand, and know what it takes to build a championship team?

So many pile on about the 9ers game and ignore the fact the team had a crappy WR corps due to Jerry Jones, a quickly eroding OL due to Jerry Jones, and once Pollard was injured the game was over.

Dak requires more help than other QB's. But if you keep him upright and not harassed, he has shown he can put up some staggering numbers.

But for most fans it's all about blaming one person for the fan's displeasure and hurt feelings. I doubt much of what comes out of fans who claim they can see for themselves when they ignore what is transpiring on the field.

Now I am not making a comparison here between Dak and Marino, so don't act like I am.

But why, if Dan Marino was considered one of the greatest passers in the game, did he not win a Super Bowl?

It takes a team. A complete team.

So is Marino to blame for not winning it all? Absolutely not.

Of course that doesn't fit into some people's agenda on this board.

Should I let his play with the ball in his hands and a playoff game on the line dictate my perception?

I don't need the media to tell me that Dak crapped the bed against the 49-ers. Even Stevie Wonder saw that.

It's easier than that.

Never trust anyone who says that they believe their eyes over numbers. Those people are allergic to fact.

The media threw rose petals at Dak's feet until January 2021. The few who were critical were written off as "haters".

It's only been since the first embarrassment against the 49's that the pendulum swung.
