I read or saw somewhere that Donavan Mcnabb said Zeke looked out of shape. I thought Zeke looked good for the first game. Did he look out of shape to you?

McNabb is right. Obviously Zeke wasn't in game shape playing so limited in preseason. Looked gassed at times and didn't have that explosion on some plays. Who really is in game shape this time of year. as Vets don't play much in the preseason.

I thought he looked a little slow on that screen pass to the left that he took down the sideline, but then later in q4 I saw his old speed back. I'm sure just a matter of not playing all preseason am's then having to play a full rough and tumble game. Give it a couple more games and everyone will be in peak condition barring any injuries of course.

Exactly that's what I noticed. If that is Zeke 3 to 4 games in he could have took that play much farther.

Compared to last year, he is definitely fatter. His abs aren't there like they were last year. Bob Sturm mentioned it a few times as well.

Now whether he did that on purpose expecting a heavy work load or he really is out of shape, I cant say for sure.

I've told you many times our head coach chooses safety over preparation. He allowed Zeke to come in heavy and work himself into shape during the regular season. Because his safety was more important during training camp and the preseason.

Jason Garrett is not a man.

Actually - a bit...while i loved how he finished certain runs and gained extra yards, his cuts, etc., looked pretty sluggish...heavy legged. A good example was in that screen play/crossing route that he took for a big gain...he waived out the very next play. Granted, with the way the CBA limits practices and all that, I can't say I completely blame him. He started a bit slow last year, too...the first two games weren't his best...so I give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll step it up.

Having said that...Donovan desperately needs a neti pot or allergy meds or something...the dude is CONSTANTLY stuffed up!?! It's painful!!!

There is some truth to this. There were times we, were talking about Dez not bring in game shape, Romo being out of shape was annual ritual... now we are talking about Zeke being out of shape... this can't be just coincidence.

Not some. Just truth.

Why did we lose the playoff game? We started slow and fell behind big. Regained our stride in the 2nd half and out played the Packers by a wide margin but that hole was too big to overcome. Why did this happen? Because the moment we had everything locked up in the regular season our head coach again chose safety over preparation and began sitting starters the 2nd half of the Lions game and then basically treated the Eagles game like a preseason game before entering the bye week. That's a whole lot of time off before playing the biggest game of their careers.

They were not prepared to play that playoff game for the singular reason that our head coach isn't a man.

And if you paid attention since then nothing has changed. He's learned nothing from it. He's just as weak and scared today as he was in December. Hence Zeke Elliott being allowed to work himself into shape during meaningful regular season games.

Lets hear it after we beat Denver @ Home in Mile High, how Jason Garrett and Jerry Jones are so overtly inept and out of touch with NFL reality....lol

Wait, are you supposed to be gassed at the beginning of the season or at the end?

Why are people blaming him looking out of shape on preseason?

Preseason is meaningless for established starters. Nobody plays much. What the 13-15 or so carries over a month of preseason action he missed is the difference in him appearing overweight or not?

Does Zeke strike anyone as the type of kid who lives in the weight room? He doesn't to me. I remember the stories of Murray following Witen around all offseason training. I....don't remember those stories from Zeke.

How many rostered players over the last 3 years? Does Witten look out of shape? Dak? Jaylen? Countless other players (go look at Chidobe or Lewis shirtless).

But somehow this is on JG? Give me a break.
