Done with Dez

Yea, they haven't played in years. Don't see any making a comeback.

Point was, he's gone. You can dislike how they did it, but some just need to move on like the OP stated.
imo Can obviously still talk about him in terms of ROH and how important he was for the team, a la with Tony.
So, we should be limited to only discussing current players?

Everyone should read Realty’s thread on the subject .

We should respect those who want to move on and those who don’t.

These are the type of subject matter which spurs interest and emotion spurring divisive opinions which generate activity on a fan forum.

The fact we have conflicting and different views on the aspects of the Dez release is to me one of the greater attributes on a forum of this nature.

Never called you out, or disrespected your views. Was merely agreeing with the OP.
Hell, I agree with you Dez should be considered for the ROH.

What I meant by my post was regarding people still arguing over his release or making nonsensical repeated threads over him.
Can obviously still talk about a player post departure and his impact on said team. I ain't no mod, so who cares about my opinion lol.

Been done with him for a couple of years. He's a cancer that needed to be removed years ago.

I didn't really want Dez gone prior to his release, but now that it's happened and with his reaction since, I am glad it's done. Now my biggest fear is that JJ and Co. have blinders on and are going to do something stupid in the draft by going after a WR in the first.

I would agree with this. Considering where they are in the 1st rd, I don't really see a value guy there when they pick at WR.

I was often critical of Dez off field altercations and temperament but Not his talent.

His personal accomplishments on an average and dysfunctional team in many ways is more notable than some of our recievers in Cowboy history on more talented and well coached teams.

This is Dallas

These issues are never dropped

We are still fighting about whether the Packers were offsides in the Ice Bowl

Expect another 10 years of hot and heavy debate......just like Greedo shot first

They weren't offsides for Bart Starr's quarterback sneak. However, there was a false start that the refs missed. Should have been a 5-yard penalty and a replay of the down. I don't think they had the 10 second runoff back then, but I'm not sure.

Cowboy fans have usually had the luxory of correlating individual greatness with team success with our championship history.

In our early years we had two players make the ROH with less than a HOF career or winning championships.

I understand how it’s difficult for fans to measure but we’ve had several players this era worthy of consideration without that kinda of team success impact including Ware, Witten , Romo and Dez.

Cowboy fans struggle indentifying greatness without team success.
Not really.

He was a really good player until he got his big fat contract. He benefited by being in an offense that threw the ball a ton.

The combination of the lack of winning, the off field non sense and how he's handled this departure should exclude him.

I think it's more like some fans over rate players.

Ware is a no brainer. Witten is in as he's likely a HOFer.

Romo goes in the ROH but not the HOF. Romo because of his story, big numbers and a fan favorite.

The player does not go into either. He has always been a controversial guy. Not all fans wanted to keep him after his Rookie contract. The last couple years have been bad.

And comparing receiving yards to other past players doesn't account for the number of games in a season.
