Donnie Edwards

Valid points.

However, it is likely Phillips will want to bring in some of his guys. Payton did it in NO. Guys to get his message across in the locker room and to help with whatever defensive transition the team might need.

Edwards also brings something this defense desperately needs. Coverage ability to the ILB position and leadership.

I think you gave the same song & dance about Fabini... how did that turn out?

Seems that was one of the signings that Jerreh was *****ing about not long ago.

And now we want to invest in another old-timer?

Where do you get the $5 million figure. if he signs a contract similar to what Glenn makes then its a great idea.

"If 'if' was a-fifth we'd all be drunk"

Maybe later tonight, but how is my if any better than yours? Where do you get that monetary figure?

Hmm, the angry Winicki. Interesting.

I never advocated breaking the bank for the guy, but I'd bring him in for the right price.

The team is desperately lacking defensive leadership. The coverage ability at the ILB position killed the team down the stretch. The guy's former coach just got hired. Certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Did Jerry say that about Fabini or just some writer? The $2.35 million or whatever (and $1.2 million cap hit) Fabini cost this year isn't that much in this day and age for a backup tackle at both spots and a guy who could mentor the young guys. Better than a Petitti, for sure.

Angry?

Nah...

Just getting your attention mate. ;)

I just don't see it happening Junk.

Edwards will be 34 yo by the time we start next season AND he seems to have an inflated view of his worth.

I think James is salvagable-- Let's see what Phillips can do with him.

I think Wade Phillips should seriously consider bringing Donnie Edwards from San Diego with him.

Merged threads...

We have about 100 Donnie Edwards threads started-- let's just add to this one without creating new shall we?

We may have LBs that can play, but Donnie Edwards can bring leadership to the LB corp. Leadership on defense is something that was lacking in 2006.

I hope he comes here (cheap) hehe

Go Cowboys!

I don't think Donnie Edwards is needed in Dallas to be honest with you.... I would much rather see Dallas go after another edge rusher to compliment D. Ware on the opposite side because it's no guarantee Greg Ellis will be the same player pre-injury...

Many would say it wasn't a lack of "leadership" but a combination of a ****ty scheme with ****ty coaching.
