Don't be stupid, keep Hurd and Rector...

I've seen a few articles mentioning "tough decisions" the Cowboys have to make at WR. Don't be stupid. If it comes down to Green, Hurd, and Rector, cut Green immediately. Don't even think about putting Rector or Hurd on the practice squad (especially Hurd).

Hurd is going to be something special (for some reason he makes me think of Michael Irvin). Who cares if Green was a 4th round pick? Hurd was an undrafted free agent. You win some and you lose some. Green has shown nothing to indicate that he deserves to be on this team, and Rector and Hurd have been phenomenal.

Easier said than done, due to the need for a kickoff specialist.

While neither Hurd or Rector may have perfected their game as of yet, I think that both have shown enough ability and potential to keep both of them. When you look at the age of both Owens and Glenn, I think it makes even more sense to keep both Hurd and Rector.

....and that would be....Green? Crayton did a much better job last year when he was fully healthy than Green has this preseason. We have plenty of WRs/DBs who can fill the bill. It comes down to blocking as much as anything. Why keep a poor kickoff specialist just because he has the title? I have another title for Green...bust. We had OG-OT Rob Sims, Ohio St. sitting right there, but we "needed" a "kickoff specialist" so much more. Now we have a bust for a return man, and Sims is kicking butt in Seattle. I say we cut our losses & cut Green.

As far as this thread, do you REALLY think Parcells is even contemplating doing anything with Hurd and Rector after the late summer they've had except get Hurd with a jersey with a number in the 80s? Come on! Some of you really need to calm down & trust your team. Rector leads ALL WRs in the NFL in yards, with Hurd in 6th position, and you're worried where they will be in September? The only question now is whether they keep 6 or 7 WRs. I say 6 due to the two-TE system, which means Copper is the last man standing. Austin goes on the PS, & Green goes back to Loiusiana.

I would put Green on the practice squad

Rector is a lock. He'll be the primary punt returner too.

Hurd is less so.

It's possible that the Cowboys keep only 5 WRs, in which case it is Hurd v. Copper - most probably with special team needs determining who sticks.

You could be right about keeping only 5 and that Copper would get the nod because of special teams. That would be dissappointment to me, though. I believe Hurd will be something special despite his undrafted status. I would keep him over Copper who hasn't shown any more than Hurd as a WR even though he's been around a while.

To be fair to him, the title originally said "********" instead of "stupid". I can understand how some people might be offended by that, so I changed it.
