He’s always been just a guy I don’t get the infatuation with him. I guess coming from an organization who had Moose people will always be excited at the thought of having a FB….i do think he should continue to get some goal line or 3rd and 1 Carrie’s but he’s just a guy.

Moose was way more than just a guy, too. As fans, we project comparisons on to those we want to be the heir apparent. But Luepke is, as you've said, just a guy. Moose was an amazing fullback. I wish that's what Luepke could be, but he hasn't shown anything Moose-like.

That was a terrible mistake by the rookie fumbling the ball near the goal line, but I still think it was a communications error. I have yet to hear an explanation from the Cowboys about what happened. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but the way Luepke kept running into the end zone like he had the ball leads me to believe he didn't think he was supposed to take it. Otherwise, why would he not turn around and jump on the ball?

It might still be his mistake, and mental mistakes might be worse than physical mistakes at that point, but I don't think he is a dumb player. I think he is low on the Cowboys priority list but I think he has some game and I wish they would give him more opportunities. He strikes me as more than just a FB. I think he can do some things with the ball.

It was the worst thing a FB could do. RBs have a little more lattitude on that, but not much. FB have no excuse for it because they are only asked to carry the ball in specific situations.

That said, the guy is young and has a lot of potential. if we have to give Mazi a few years to really judge him then Luepke should get at least one more to see if he can be as good as The Moose was.

No one (aside from a very small, dumb minority of users) wants to toss him. Most sensible posters just rightfully acknowledge that he is the type of player that can be had as an UDFA every single year: Slow, bruiser running back from an FCS program with some pass catching and blocking ability.

You need those players to fill out the bottom of your roster and play special teams. I like the player, but to pretend he will ever be a huge difference maker is totally unrealistic. He just lacks the physical tools.

that's not how I see him I see a big guy who was a actual running back in college that's big enough to play some fullback who is underutilized because the problem here is playing time our run game is in shambles and we don't see our coaching staff scheming or coming up with a better way to get our actual running backs some more room and short yardage and goal line situations..

I believe this guy can bring you that and the only reason he's not as successful is the same reason deuce Vaughn is not just not getting on the field and being used properly... And I don't care who he is he is our only fullback on the team we're big enough to be utilized in that role and I'd like to see more of him in short yardage not only as the lead back or the full back but just given opportunities to get more comfortable and be better..

You act like our run game somehow is ready to roll for the playoffs and what I've seen the last two weeks is nothing has changed the thing that hasn't changed is the philosophy they're using Tony Pollard wrong they're looking at him as a three down back and the only time they bring in the other guys is to give Tony a blow... In my opinion that was wrong from day one game one because Tony's better when he's the change of pace back or when he comes in and is utilized and play calls that fit his style and right now you've worn the guy out we have guys on this team and I don't care what their name is or what pedigree they have or what mold they fit if that's the only person on this team that can get you that along with Rico then you put them in the game more in those situations so they're not worried about a handoff horror mistake because they misread a play or missed a play call or an alignment because the coaching staff has not utilized them enough up to this point..

So let's use the guy more I'm not saying make this guy identity of this offense but he should have been being used more from day one and I'm betting he would have been in much more of a groove by now... And I'm also betting if you gave more carries to Rico and put more two men or I formation in the backfield that Tony would be much fresher right now and look much more explosive...

But hey that's just a lowly fans opinion I'm not the coaching staff I don't know why they haven't done it but I can tell you this Tony looked a lot better when he was zeke's backup then he does as a number one..
