It may not be an issue of letting him walk, he'll get a better offer to be a head coach than he ever would to be an assistant. The only thing that could possibly keep him, as far as I see, is if Jerry paid him well AND promised him the head coaching job when Wade's contract is up.

I really have to believe Jerry Jones is going to "find a way" to ensure Garrett remains a Cowboy and becomes the next HC very soon. As someone else mentioned in chat (brucem), perhaps Jerry really wanted Garrett but got cold feet and hired Wade.

They're both outstanding and I can't believe anything other than the fact that we're looking at our next future great HC being groomed as the OC.
