.. I see some major problems with our offense. You can't watch that first half and not admit we miss a game breaker threat that enable us to vertical extend the field. We are not going to go far with Witten leading us in pass receptions and yards. The offense looked real basic and lacked big play potential outside of the long runs from Felix.

We will run into teams who will slow our running attack and I wonder if we will be able to counter with an ***ective passing attack. I'm glad we won but we are not a dominate looking team.

I'm smelling a 9-7 year

Funny. Your name in here is "panther", and you subtlely just downplayed a nice win against the "Panthers". And after 3 games you think we are a marginal team that is only capable of 9 wins.

Not buying it.

We're not a playoff team right now and we're definitely not a SB team so there's not point in looking at the big picture every week. Just enjoy the games and let the pieces fall where they fall

What's the fun in that? That's not being a fan, that's trying to act like a coach. You're not a coach are ya? :p:

Need to change your prescription glasses.

I did and I won't.

For two straight weeks, both the Giants and Panthers have used, pretty much, the same theory on defense. They are preventing the Cowboys from going over the top while allowing all the underneath passes to the TE and RBs the Cowboys want to throw.

Even if it's at the cost of not being able to stop the running game, as neither did to the tune of 250+ yards last week and 200+ yards this week, they are DETERMINED not to let Tony Romo beat them with the big play.

It's a sound strategy as long as Romo gets anxious and plays into their hands, like he did last week. However, when Romo refuses to take their bait and plays under control, it backfires on them because their defense has to spend TONS of times on the field due to allowing so many yards on the ground.

I didn't care what Dallas did up until week 2, and I wont care what they do until they play their next playoff/good opponent. I haven't looked at the schedule yet but it sure isn't the Broncos.

other than the panthers 1st drive tnew looked like the tnew we're used to seeing

On the first drive, Delhomme did not complete a pass that went past the line of scrimmage.

I would not get too worried just because the O was vanilla for this game. I thought Garrett was just trying to run and shorten the game. We dominated the LOS for the most part and the score should not have been as close as it was. If you want to worry about anythiing, I would worry about dumb penalties and about Ware, who I think is playing hurt.

Interesting take. Lose to the has beens and it wont matter what happens against the will be's. For goodness sakes people. Football is entertainment. I want a Super Bowl win as much as anybody, but enjoy the ride a little bit.

Ren, you are right. I just need to come to terms with where our team is today. Frankly, it's a bit less stressful on game days when i do that. But I have come to accept that until we get a dominating defense, we most likely we be an slightly above average team. If we had a dominate defense, I think we could make a good run at it. But if we have to turn to Tony throwing the ball 25+ times a game, we could be in for some up and down rides this year.

Bottom Line: If we had the Ravens or Jets defensive scheme we could go far with this QB. If our defense is what is seems to be, I smell 9-7 for 2009. Then the changes will really be coming to Dallas because JJ is not a fool and he will NOT accept an average team. The stadium is beautiful but it has really put the pressure on certain members of the Cowboys team this year.

I dunno our offense looks pretty bad *** this year to me.

The only problem I have with our offense is when they turn the ball over.

Plus teams are selling out against our pass. Thats why the lead draw is working 100% of the time.

Personally, I think we had a wicked hangover from the Gspot game. Yes, our offense isn't perfect, but at some point we have to beat the Giants in a BIG game to overcome the mental hurdle. Next chance is in Dec.-better do it then. Need confidence vs. those arseclowns.

This thread is a perfect example of how some people in this world just aren't happy unless they have something to be miserable about.

Honestly, I think Garrett took Jimmy's advice and really simplified the game plan for Romo this week. Jimmy stated that you do that in big games for Romo to keep him in check. I think last night qualified as a big game at this point in the season. Going 1-2 and 0-2 in the new stadium would have been really, really bad for the Cowboys last night.

The most exotic thing we saw last night was an end around from Crayton. Other than that, the play book (and play calling) was pretty basic. I'm cool with that as long as the Cowboys execute. I don't know what the hell we were doing in the 1st half, but it was ugly. Luckily the team pulled together and executed in the second half.

Speed Wr's. Blah blah blah. They won. I could care less if they win like this or even uglier all year and maybe in the playoffs. As long as THEY WIN..

You want highlights and big shiny plays? Rewatch some old Dallas games with HIM in there catching all these TD's but STILL got them NOTHING.

Dallas's strength has always been the run, and then pass. Atleast one big possession WR and a stout TE. I don't know, seem to work for 3 Super Bowl wins a while back.

Seems like they almost have all the pieces. Butler will be a BIG Piece in the defense. Romo playing more or less mistake free. They possibly have a chance at 10-6, wild card, maybe make something happen.

Keep in mind we didn't have the greatest of starting field position last night either.

We racked up the yards but didn't get the points.

If our offensive production is our biggest worry than we are in good shape. But its not.....

Guess the OP missed the Tampa game? I understand the concern.. however Bennett and Miles will get more involved. Our running game will set up play action. I think we'll be ok
