Of replacing McCoy and Foles with Murray and Bradford. They can throw the read option out of the playbook because every team knows Bradford is not keeping the ball and running with it. In that case, you are left with Murray, an inferior, less creative, less home-run hitting back. He is tougher and will get the tough 4 yards. And he is more disciplined, so he will keep it in the designed hole. But I feel like the overall threat of Philly's running game has been diminished. That is especially true after losing Maclin. Other than Sproles, they have no down-the-field playmakers.

This is not sour grapes, because I didnt want us to re-sign Murray. Just use his money to sign Hardy or a premier CB quick...

I also dont think Murray has the stamina to keep up with their quick offense. We shall see.

Murray is a one cut back which is ideal for Kelly's offense. He does not want a back dancing behind the LOS. He wants the RB to make the read and then go.

They are certainly a less dynamic offense now. Losing Jackson took away the vertical stretch aspect. Now without McCoy and even Maclin they are an offense much easier to defend against.

But, to be fair, it's March 12th.

They got a stud linebacker in exchange for Shady. As long as you have the cash and cap space, the equation is pretty simple: (Demarco + Kiki) > Shady.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I do not think Kelly cares about a "vertical" aspect. His best Oregon teams were QB bus drivers and a lot of running. Most of the passes were to destinations predicated by respect of the run.

To me this whole Murray deal strikes of two things besides the $$$ leverage by agent & potentially Murray

1. Chip is getting real heat over trade for Bradford, release of McCoy & Maclin

2. He need to appease the fan base with something - what better way than to take something away from the team that in essence eliminated you from the playoffs...

3. Bradford can play the perfect foil as he has a relationship with Murray and they can become Phillys 2/3 of the triplets... At least in their mind

I think he was speaking of Murray getting winded on long runs while here in Dallas. What about the following plays considering that tempo of that offense, etc. Murray did run to contact in the open field bc he was gassed and looking for someone to bring him down, etc. Great player, but players don't have the cardio many assume.

He better care about it. This is the NFL. If you want that space to run your offense underneath, you better give a defense a reason to respect a threat down the field.

All I know is that on March 12th, the Cowboys are a weaker team. 2014 may equal 2007.

Philly D is really good...
if they play our style of football, north south running, don't put the pressure on Bradford, pocket play.... they will be good...
but that just doesn't seem like chip kelly's way..... I think he's gonna have to prove he's a good coach by tweaking his philosophy...
