Meh, I'd call them equal at best, and only because Coles has had injury issues. Moss is fast but he's traditionally been adverse to the middle and his hands aren't as good.
I guess you didn't see the Jets game did you?
Moss' hands are better, no doubt. (even last year Coles had a case of the droppsies <--- is that with one 'p' or 2?)

Oh and Moss' 50+ yarder Sunday, that was a pass over the middle.

The cockiness around here astounds me

Let's not get in over our heads. We won one. Enjoy. But we're not quite the elite team everyone now things we are.

Skins can easily beat us. Give them credit and don't overlook them.

Why does it pain you so that you sense cockiness on this board. We are fans. It feels real good to win on opening day; to beat a 12-4 team of last year; to beat them at their place; to beat the team with the top rusher in the NFL; to stop them 4 times straight inside the 10 from getting the go-ahead TD.

We've owned the Commanders over the past several years with mediocre teams. We have a vastly improved team and coach from those previous years. They are coming to Texas stadium on Monday Night; the Tripletts are being inducted, etc, etc. You daggone skippy I'm cocky and loving it.

Don't worry yourself over the enthusiasm in here at this time ... your desires will soon be fulfilled and you can one againe be pleased if/when we lose one and everyone will be crying the blues. Just hold on.

(P.S. I Ain't Giving the Skins Squat but a Chance in Hades)

Living in the NY area I have seen plenty of both players. Probably more of Moss than you have.

You are extrapolating one game out over their careers, which is simply not a valid comparison. In general, Coles is more likely to make the tough catch over the middle - I don't think that is even arguable, and Coles dropping a pass this weekend and Moss finally daring a crossing route doesn't really change that.

If Coles was still a Commander and Moss still a Jet, I firmly believe we wouldn't even be having this conversation. But having seen both players I was tickled pink when you were forced to deal Coles for Moss - you can't convince me in any way shape or form that is a deal the Skins would have made if Coles had not forced it on them.

Trust me, our WR core has been upgraded.
What he doesn't have however, is the chemistry our WRs were growing with Ramsey. We'll see how all this plays out. If Brunell comes close to last years numbers then...well...it'd be a miracle.

No Coles > Moss

Although history tells his that anything can happen in these types of rivalrys. It's kind of tough not to be cocky when you consider how we've recently owned the Skins. Owned them doing a time when we weren't a very good team. I honestly see us stomping the "Porkskins". Not overconfident in this at all. The Skins situation (team chemistry) is obviously unstable right now and it will surface as soon as things start going wrong.

I definately agree that Coles is better than Moss, when Coles is healthy. Coles wasnt healthy for any of last year, and isn't healthy yet. Toe injuries linger, as you guys know from Deion. Right now, with Coles still hurting, id call them equal. If Coles were healthy, he is easily the choice. He drops a few, but so does TO...He just produces more consistantly than Moss.

No Coles dropped two wide open TD passes this weekend. And I was talking about last year as well.
And with Moss, I could care less if he ever goes across the middle again. If Moss has better stats in every single category over Coles, but he never did any crossing routes and Coles did....I fail to see how that makes Coles the better reciever. Wouldn't that be more on the playcalling?

I loved Coles when he was here. I wish him the very best in NY.
If you can guarentee me that Coles will return to his early 2003 form (pre injury), then no we wouldn't be having this conversation. Because then Coles would be > Moss.
As it stands now, until he proves otherwise (which could very well happen). Moss > Coles.

I think we should be concerned with Brunell...he has an accurate arm...and you can debate all you want about the receivers around him - these guys are all in the NFL and can make plays if the ball is thrown accurately. The key is we cannot give him time to make comfortable throws. And I really liked how we pressured Brees without bringing everyone. It has been a long time since we have had that.

the threw the ball 43 times against the Fraziers of the world. He should have throw for over 500 hundred yards in that game.

Our defense picked up exactly where it left off, holding the Bears to 2.3 yards per carry. Kyle Orton, who the announcers fawned over all day for keeping his poise and composure and having an ok day amassed a stellar 52.8 passer rating. Bledsoe is obviously a far bigger threat than Orton, but our pass defense is equally far better than San Diego's.

You're proud of keeping stalwarts Thomas Jones and Kyle Orton in check? Wow.... Congrats... They're uh..... great players... yeah....

We held LT, the consensus best back in the league under 4 yards per carry.

There is no controversy or divisiveness at Commanders Park this week. Most of the players are in favor of this change and do play better for Brunell. They are not a distracted team.

According to what I've read over the last couple of days on the various Skins meltdown posts, Portis, Jansen and Cooley are all on record as supporters of Ramsey. Saying that he is their future and leader and crap. So how is this not a distraction?

Who cares if we are cocky. We don't play the game.

You mean, you're not lining up at cornerback? And I'm not rushing the passer? Damn!

So, as a fan, I can worry more about how much air time ABC gives to the R.O.H. induction ceremony than I do that hack, Mark Brunell?

Outstanding. Because that's how I am approaching this one and it will not cost Dallas a single solitary point on the scoreboard that I am doing so.

Last year, his best game by far was against Dallas. Brunell threw for 325 yards on 25-of-43 passing, with two touchdowns. Nor do I see Bled racking up two big games in a row, since the Skins D is formidable. We gotta shut down Portis and make Brunell and the smurfs beat us.

not that we can play poorly and win, but we're alot more talented than the Bears, who the Commanders struggled to beat...Orton and the Bears offense isnt remotely as good as ours is

unless we just have 4 or 5 turnovers and/or totally melt down defensively, we should win

I really don't care what the deadskins have on offense or defense, I'll let BP and crew worry about that.

But from our side of the ball, I think last year the skins were playing a totally different team - they were playing against a horrible runner, a horrible passer, an average offensive line, a horrible defensive line and scheme, a bad linebacking crew, a secondary that had RW playing out of position, and a second corner who was pathetic.

They are going up against a HUGE defensive line plus Ware who is going to be in Mark B.'s face all day long.

Portis is a good one, I'll give you that. We'll leave him in the hands of RW.

On offense, they may have a better secondary than the Chargers, but you will not be able to stop everything we're bringing at you.

You will need to stop JJ, or Witten, or Key, or Glenn, or Crayton, or Price. - you can't stop them all.

One last thing, if they can't put any kind of decent pressure on DB, or slow down JJ, then I predict we put up 4 TD's and 3 FG.

And your boy Bledsoe moved the ball against the second worst pass defense in the league last year. Suddenly that means you're gonna plunk 35 on us.

And I don't hear anyone on this board lamenting the fact that Julius Jones was held to under 4 yards a carry. Somehow he's the future centerpeice of your high-powered offense. Wow ... Congrats. :)

What a pathetic organization you all have.

JJ was held to 95 yards against a top notch run defense.

We played against a super-bowl caliber team of last year, who hasn't changed much.

We walked into their town, and we took a ton of rookies with us, and we beat them.

I'm thinking that if we could have played better special teams, we could have held them to 2 Touches, and 2 Field goals.

When you guys start scoring touch downs, then maybe you can start beating the 2nd worst team in the NFL, since you just beat the worst last week.
