Just because he was mexican doesn't make it okay.

I'd laugh if it weren't for the thread topic. Sorry. I really hate to not spell something correct. It was my major way to get my kids to use correct spelling and grammar; gig'em everytime and send them to the dictionary. So I got it bad if I didn't use the proper King's English.

If he was indeed driving under the influence and killed a pedestrain, he is guaranteed to see more than a year in the slammer.

jails are so overcrowded that he probably won't see more than a year

I was reading over here, some lady was drunk and killed somebody, and the likelihood that she was going to jail more than a year was pretty slim

he hit and killed people on 2 different occasions, didn't he?
No, just once, but he was caught for DUI again after he had already killed someone. He was later acquitted of the DUI.

He got 90 days for manslaughter.

That sentence is not explainable. It was a joke. Having said that, that was 1998 and this is 2009 - a lot has changed regarding the penalties for DUI/DWI since then. I don't know if Stallworth was drunk or not, but for the sake of his immediate freedom, he'd better hope he wasn't legally drunk.

The opposite of love or hate is indifference.

Indifference is also hate.

And I understand if you feel indifferent about this perspective. :)

For the people that are hating on Stallworth please hear this.

My dad was on the highway once and a 13 year old decided to cross an interstate right before my dad got to that area. My dad was driving the speed limit. He didn't see the kid until it was too late. He was tested, blood and breathalyzer.

He was sober.
He was coming from work.
To this day, that still haunts him.

The kid is at fault. I prayed for his family, but my dad wasn't the one responsible.

Don't judge Stallworth before all the facts come out. He could be at fault, but you don't know that. Doesn't matter if the guy was a family man, everyone screws up sometimes. His family are in my prayers, but we DON'T know the facts, we're going off statements 2 paragraphs long released at the police's digression.

No offense but the 2 situations are simply not similar. That's all I will say out of respect to the pain your Dad is probably in. I can only imagine.

per pft:
The only new information of note in the latest article is that a witness claims that the incident occurred after Stallworth tried to beat a red light by going around a vehicle that already had stopped at the light. If that’s the case, Stallworth might be in big trouble even if his blood alcohol content was below the legal limit.

Wow. It sounds like the guy wasn't jaywalking and Stallworth just ran the light, according to this.

Man, this keeps sounding worse and worse.

First he hit a jaywalker.
Then, he possibly was over the limit.
Now he ran a red light.

If he was over the limit, ran a red light, and hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk..............He is looking at some years fellas, seriously.
