Dr Z states about the Chargers:

Am I the only one that finds this player distasteful after his little steroids suspension? Why does the media continue to pump up good things cheating players do? He cheated the system and Dr Z completely ignores this and depicts him as a defensive force after he "rested" and came back raring to go.

Why not pay more attention to players who work incredibly hard every day and don't break the rules? Their accomplishments may not be as sexy or game-changing, but at least they've shown some ethics. This is what hurts the league - players that do steriods, regardless of breaking the rules, are lauded for their play. I call BS...

Nuf of my rant.

Go Cowboys!
I saw some of that game. Is it just me or does Merriman get handed so many bad QB's. Losman just fell down on his backpeddle and fumbles the ball as Merriman comes down on him. Sack, forcedfumble, fumble recovery. Why doesn't Dallas get any of these inept QB's?

do the chargers condone cheating??? The nfl players poll ranked Rodney Harrison as being the dirtiest player in the nfl. He played for SD for years.

They draft Luis Castillo in the first round after he admits to taking steroids post nfl combine. Then they draft Merriman, who ANYONE who watches him play should suspect he's gotta be on something. He literally plays like he is crazy.

I watched quite a bit of the game. Didn't see the sacks but most of the time he didn't do anything and was standing looking down at the pile after the play. On one play he rushed the passer and the Bills were so worried about him they blocked him with a running back and he didn't get a sack. Ware gets double teamed routinely. The times I've seen him get blocked by just a running back or tight end, it's been pretty much a sure sack.

What part of the game did you watch? Merriman had two fumbles forced to go along with two sacks and was the player who pressured Losman when he threw up his first int.

Caught a Charger fan peeking at us.

You pushed some buttons.

Aside from Peyton Manning and Mcnabb you guys have been playing inept QBs all season

Thats as stupid as saying, do the Cowboys condone drug use? I mean both Leon Lett and Micheal Irvin played for them

Ask yourself if there is a double standard on how baseball's star steroid users are treated (Palmeiro & presumably Bonds & McGwire) and how NFL star steroid users (Merriman) are treated. For me the answer is Yes!

Heard a talk show debate on that topic on the way to work this morning.

There was shame put on those baseball guys listed above, two of which have not even been proven users. With Merriman, it seems that most media types are not even batting an eye and are ready to resume the worship now that he's back on the field.

For me it has nothing to do with DeMarcus Ware being a Cowboy. I could care less about that whole Ware v Merriman debate. I really could.

The double standard does bother me.

The double standard is probably because MLB records of guys who were clean in their careers are being broken by guys who might have used steroids

Steroid use in the NFL was more rampant twenty to thirty years ago compared to now

when Irvin and his Boys got busted for drugs... I kinda liked it!!! I dont want my football team being a bunch of Boy Scouts!!!

Merriman may be a cheater but he is still a Hellva player... and getting paid alot of money to "cheat"!

the fact is players who use roids do not last long... look at Duce Staley! Its a fact that Steriod abuse destroys the human body!

If u really hated the guy you should hope he keeps doing roids until he wrecks his body!!!

Pumping (pun intended) up Merriman is just another way to subtly shoot down the Cowboys (and their choice of Ware over him) in the media.

That's paranoid to the point of being idiotic.

Merriman is a great player and that seems to enrage Dallas fans, I saw someone say the other day he gets a lot of "garbage sacks." Garbage sacks? What the **** is a garbage sack? He's a hell of a player, whether or not he's better than Ware I can't say, but there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that.

On another note, if you think there aren't guys on the Cowboys juicing and on every team then you're in a dreamworld. It is absolutely rampant in college, with the technology they have to mask this stuff now I'm sure it is in the NFL as well even with their stringent testing policy. As far as the man's character, he's a young guy that made a mistake; one that a lot of fans here must have been really happy to hear about because now their personal vendettas against him are validated.

It's hardly immediate, though. When I was looking up nandrolone, I think I saw about 3 months of time for it to be out of your system.

Depends on if you're doing PCT or not probably. It doesn't last long in your system at all past your last injection...6 days according to Bill Roberts. With good PCT you can probably keep most of the gains for 3 months but without I bet you can lose a lot of your gains in a month.

Garbage sack... hmmm... oh yeah. Strahans record break sack on Favre comes to mind.

Your accusations of steroids running rampant and a Dallas Cowboy is doing them is a weak argument and holds no water. Who are you to know this is a fact? Please enlighten me.

What's paranoid about it? I'm 99.99% certain if the shoe was on the other foot, and a Cowboys' player had been juicing and been caught for it, and had been producing as much as Merriman, he wouldn't be getting the free ride that Merriman is getting in the media. It's beyond me how anyone can think that anything this guy has done is legitimate.

Merriman doesn't enrage me at all. Ware's play has been fabulous, and I couldn't care less how well the other guy is doing in San Diego. If Merriman enrages Dallas' fans it's because of the association he has with Ware, and how he's always being compared to him in the media as a better player because he sacks the QB more. So much so that BP references the association in his press conferences - "I'm trying to create a linebacker here." In other words, not just a pass rush specialist who is given free reign to rush the QB and lacks coverage duties.

Great. "The other guys are (possibly) juicing, including those in the Cowboys organization (with no proof), let's let Merriman off the hook excuse." What a silly argument. You sound like Bob Dole.

Merriman was tested last year and was clean every time.

Honestly, I couldn't care less.

Whether or not Merriman purposely took them or accidently took them, or is clean or not, I don't care...

All I care about is if we end up playing each other in the Super Bowl, how our team handles him....

i agree. there are many players using roids in the nfl, many players using coke recreationally or some other narcotic, pain killers. players go clubing and drink too much, drink and drive, get into fights, get shotup for associating with bad crowds or being in the wrong environment and even worse than all that....players beating up their wives or girlfriends.

people are faced with decisions all the time and for various reasons make risky decisions or unwise choices. life goes on, the players get away with it or get caught but after a suspension cont to play. there are always consequences for bad decisions, they dont always surface right away but sooner or later you reap the results of your actions. there seems to be alot of overreacting due to all the merriman vs ware comparisons. in the end things seem to sort themselves out.

It's comman knowledge there are ways to cheat the tests. ::cough::Romanowski::cough::

Baseball players like, Bonds, Sosa, McGuire were never caught but that doesn't stop the tainted records and not getting in the hall of fame talk but
Merriman was caught and it gets written off as "he's overcome the 4 game suspension"
