Time for a good Cowboys related meal. Been a busy month, dad had heart surgery, doing well, at least for a 90 year old. Blessed to have him and get to hang out with him everyday. My daughter and son in law are coming home in two weeks. He's done with his Air Force, 6 year commitment, and we're all excited for the next phase in their lives! Things getting back to normal, so it's ready for a DRAFT DAY MEAL!
Gonna make it quick and simple, bought a couple of 18 oz Ribeye steaks yesterday afternoon, throw them on the grill along with asparagus, onions, mushrooms and loaded mashed potatoes at about 5pm. Also got some cocktail shrimp and sauce for a pre BBQ snack. Got plenty of Kool Aid, that @gtb1943 sent me, ready to go!

Not sure who I want to draft, but like @Bobhaze says, just trust Jerry! Lol, Have fun guys, cuss out Jerry, blame Dak, or be a homer, whatever makes it fun for you! Go Cowboys!
What's on your plate!

Lots of coffee. Then I have a brisket I’m going to experiment with in the oven for some old people that can’t handle the smoke. Sacrilege I know.
Its going to look as wrinkled as them!

I jest....my father in law says he hates smoke but he seems to always enjoy what I smoke for him....I think its just a misconception of what bbq is

Ranching, what does a ribeye in your neck of the woods go for a pound?

For me we are back at the farm and getting ready for seeding. So it will be a simpler working meal. Probably some casserole.

Are you really trying to treat this like an event that needs food and you're going to view this whole thing like on TV?

I've gotten to the point where I just watch the ESPN and Bleacher Report app and just see what teams to pick and refreshing to update until it gets really close to the Cowboys pics..

Easier because at this point of making it like an event is just too much of a let down and too much wasted energy for me..lol

Hopefully, you’ll trust that Jerry listens to the people he delegates to, like his coaching staff and Will McClay in the scouting department, who might have the bigger role.

He takes in all that information, not just for the draft, but also for free agents, trades, and how contracts are handled, all through a collaborative process. The good news is that Brian Schottenheimer and his offensive group, along with an entirely new defensive coaching staff, might provide better advice on who to pick and other important decisions.

So to me I look at this as a year to year thing and if you really look at it the last 2 seasons, I feel like they're moving different even if it hasn't paid off yet, I think they were pretty aggressive last year, and I know didn't go all in, They made a lot of moves that ahead of a lot of contracts, they may trade for George Pickens, they made a trade for QW, And I realized we lost Parsons ,but he did get enough compensation to help and they're still going to use that tonight..

I feel like this offseason has been very aggressive, with calls being made and trades pursued for players who weren’t even really available. They made great offers to Dean and Max Cruddy, but just didn’t land them. That wasn’t due to a lack of effort—those weren’t lowball offers or attempts to bargain, they were strong deals. I think that aggressiveness will continue after the draft, but hopefully the voices in Jerry’s ear aren’t giving him bad advice and he doesn’t end up with another “Taco” situation. Those picks weren’t his idea; he was convinced to go after those guys, just like when Parcells pushed for Spears first in the draft. I believe we’re in a similar spot now with two first-rounder, Jerry wanted Ware, Parcells was adamant about Spears, but thankfully Jerry got both.

Still, Jerry was the one who decided to target Ware first.

We still ended up with Bobby Carpenter, and that was because of Bill Parcells. I get the hesitation to trust Jerry, but I think you have to believe that the people he’s brought in over the last couple of years are going to give him better advice.

Please dont Bring that up again. WE Spend too much talk about George Pickens.. They Will not take a second,I guarantee that come back keep receipt that's a gun perspective that they would take left for George Pigs they might not meet you first they're definitely get a first round pick and if it's not in this draft next draft it'll be 1st and another pick in the player domain II find it odd that Dexter Lawrence gets first waddle got a lot more they're not taking less for George Pickens The market says you can get more for him why would they take a second.

Like they're trying to get rid of George Pickens they like him they know they can't afford him long term that's only reason we're in this discussion so much but they will not take a second that I guarantee..

No matter what you think about Pickens, His value is much higher than a second...

I actually agree with this.

The Cowboys failures/inactivity in FA have actually created clarity on the path forward.

Can't fix everything this year, so its better to make smarter future moves.

Why keep Pickens if you're not contending? Why not get something for him while his value is probably an all time high.

Please don’t bring that up again. We’ve spent too much time talking about George Pickens. They will not take a second-round pick, I guarantee it. From their perspective, they’d only move him for a first rounder, if not in this draft, then in the nex, plus another pick or a player. It’s odd that Dexter Lawrence got a first, Waddle fetched even more, so why would they take less for Pickens? The market says he’s worth more. This isn’t about wanting to get rid of him, they like hi, but they know they can’t afford him long-term.

That’s the only reason this even comes up, but a second-round pick won’t cut it. No matter what you think, his value is much higher than that.

Maybe you should agree to moving him, but taking just a second-round pick is robbery. There’s no way you settle for that—you need more. The franchise tag says he’s worth two firsts, and I can give plenty of examples to back it up. There’s no way you only take a second. I’d rather keep him on the tag this year than accept such a deal. That’s just bad business, and fans agree with me. Media pundits think it’s a bad trade idea too.
